Yes it is the same. Their job is to respond to known facts, not paranoid fantasies. And the known facts are normal death for an overweight 79 year old man. If “people of means” wanted him out of the way he’d have been out of the way a long long time ago.

But why not mention to the Justices of the Peace that the body was Justice Scalia. Why did he decide to go on this trip? Sounds like it was a last minute decision.
Who was he travelling with? Another article said it was a lawyer friend.
Who were the other guest in the hunting party? Poindexter said he knew all of them and paid for all of them on the trip. They must have been special if he paid for all of them to come to his resort.
“All the guests were friends of mine, I paid for all of them. There were no politics, no jurisprudence in the slightest,” he said.
The stuff we know. I wouldn’t doubt if they took a blood sample. Heart attacks leave behind chemical traces in the bloodstream, very easy to detect (actually sometimes the ONLY detectable thing, my uncle was in the hospital for 2 weeks having silent heart attacks the whole way, he had some symptoms to start but they went away shortly after he got to the hospital, doctor wouldn’t release him until the blood work came back clean). There are ways short of an autopsy to detect many forms of death, these are the things they generally use to decide whether or not to do an autopsy. People need to stop seeing boogiemen behind every corner, fat old people die, it happens.

Which can be overridden by authorities if they feel it is necessary. But it all seems pretty plain and obvious. There would be a certain irony in the state of Texas and Scalia’s family getting into a legal battle over an autopsy, but outside the sideshow aspect it would probably be wasted effort. It’s a pretty obvious case of fat old people die sometimes.
Hey - the bodies of Supreme Court Justices are found everyday, no biggie. No need to inspect the body, just phone it in.

Why would anybody bother to assassinate him NOW? Why not earlier in Obie’s presidency? With more dems in the senate and a better chance to get confirmed whoever he wanted? And if this conspiracy is so brilliant, what makes you think an autopsy would break it?

The judge did not see the body, how could she make such a determination? Apparently she relied on statements from LEO who arrived on scene after the death. Did LEO determine the cause of death?

Somebody responded. They have equipment and cool stuff. And this being the 21st century some of that equipment is going to be smartphones that can transmit all kinds of data, including letting the judge visually inspect the body from anywhere with cell towers. It’s a remarkable world this 21st century, if you’ve had x-rays in the last decade there’s a really good chance the real analysis was done on the other side of the planet (people whine about Indian call centers, nobody pays attention to how x-ray technicians have been offshored), people don’t actually need to be at the body to check it out. Heck with zoom in you can probably get a BETTER visual inspection by phone than in person.

Spotty != non-existent. And even your quote says it exists. also keep in mind the difference between sending voice and data, data is lower bandwidth and done with a protocol that verifies and resends data and is actually easier than talking. And as we should have all learned 15 years ago, there are things BEYOND cellphones for hinterland communications.
