Infiltration, Trump's Strongest Suit
My own thoughts | 01/16/2016 | DoughtyOne / for Free Republic

Posted on 01/16/2016 4:17:14 PM PST by DoughtyOne

Posted below are some numbers that reveal the make-up of the New York state midset.

You'll note that the numbers are broken down for New York City as well as the
other portions of the state.

There are a number of things to consider when we reveiw numbers like this.

1. The numbers reveal we have our work cut out for us in New York

2. The numbers reveal there are many people in the state that agree with us

3. Often, the bleakest voter results, are far less bad than we might think

4. Numbers needed to turn things around, in relation to the overall voter pool, are not that massive.

5. When tragedy strikes, we are one people.  We must strive to be that more of the time, finding
ways to cause the Left to see us more favorably, without sacrificing our beliefs.  I don't advocate
changing one belief.  We appeal to them on like minded issues.

That is the future.  Trump does this naturally.  We are very lucky to have him.

The first thing to think about when considering the New York vote, is that the numbers basically
have only one direction to go.  They have swung so far Left, the chances for them to go even
further Left is minimal.  The fertile ground goes Right from here, not Left.

It's like when Senators on Capital hill goes up for re-election.  If more Leftist
Senators are
up for vote than those on the Right, there is a higher probability that the Right will gain seats.
With two thirds Leftists up for review, any changes benefit us.  Some seats may be
lost on our side, but the risks are largely on the Left in those circumstances.

So it is with the New York voting base.  Any changes there will almost certainly swing our way.
The only question is, how much?

Should we abandon places like California and New York?  Should we concede them to the Left?
Heck no.  We should approach issues in a good conservartive manner, that can appeal to the Left.

We talk about increased jobs, higher levels of preventative measures so another 09/11 doesn't
take place on our soil.  Tump has addressed both.  His bring jobs back to America and anti
Islamic immigration stances will be popular in New York.

A 14.3% sway in the numbers, and we pull New York over to our side.  And if we pull
New York over to our side, govern in a manner that shows the people that our team can
keep it's promises, this can be a true game changer over the next decade.

Ted Cruz opened to door for Trump to endear himself to New Yorkers.  Today they can
more easily see him as one of them, if not idealogically, at least as a fellow citizen from the
region.  I submit this may have swayed votes in the Republican direction.

Folks, we must get over the idea that some regions of the U. S. are out of our reach.

For the last several decades I have been arguing for Immigration fixes and beyond.  One of my
tenets has been to propose the same principles to all demographics.  Donald Trump is doing just
that and it's working.  He is touching breakfast table issues that appeal to everyone.

When he's addressing Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, Women, Republicans, Democrats, and other demographics,
he says the same things.  He proposes Making America Great Again.  In that respect he is a game changer.

Trump is now recognized to be pulling people across all demographic lines.  Now I know some folks will
go right out to prove me wrong, but we've all seen the polls that back my premise here.  If folks want to
disagree with me fine.  There is ample proof out there that this premise is sound.

I submit we recognize areas that are problematic and do our best to appeal to them on solid issues
they can identify with.

While some folks will see Ted Cruz as the winner, or Donald Trump the winner of the exchange over
New Yorker's beliefs, I think the upshot of it will be that we have a better chance of taking the state.

That should be our goal not only in New York, but in every state.  I don't know about you, but I am
tired of spotting the left to over 100 electoral votes every four years.

Trump is going to break this thing wide open.  New York is as good as any place to start.

On 09/01, we were one with New York City.  We can be again, and in as meaningful a way.

You’re forgetting the New Yorkers know full well how Trump manages his “business” affairs....that will crimp any idea of his support for the average Joe....and even some of his “enemies”.

However ....what will attract them all is when Trump tells them of the revenue he will generate of the taxpayers money into New York....Trumps a money man and he pays to get and retain loyalty....one way or another.

Your information was interesting....but as we’ve seen Trump deals as Trump deals with or without numbers unless they have $$$$$ signs...and big ones!

He's already moving to the center and the GOPe is lining up behind him. Unfortunately, we won't get the chance to learn this lesson again. Lack of confidence in our own values and philosophy will be our demise.

Enjoy the ride, again.

Agreed. The Republican Party shouldn’t write off anyplace. I live in California, we’re seen as about as blue as it gets. Yet, it was not that long ago that we recalled a Democratic Governor and replaced him with a Republican one. Over a tax increase. First you have to have to get a handle on the illegal aliens though. You can convert people with enough work, but it does no good if they import three Democrats for every one you convert to the Republican side. If you just took “natural born” Americans and their progeny, the Republicans are winning over huge parts of the electorate. But it’s overcome by the millions of new voters, most of whom don’t know anything about American politics other than that they are supposed to vote Democrat. We can’t win like that.

Seven years of Obama’s miserable economy has worn a lot of people out. Some rank and file Dems who have jobs will are only too eager to vote Trump. I know some of them.

Cruz was highlighting Trump’s prior liberal positions. Trump is from NY so NY values.

I would have just gone with Trump’s own words rather than tie to a particular city/state.

What infiltration? Most of the Trump supporters here are long time freepers. What? Three new members supporting Trump means infiltration? Ha! I can remember when we were overrun by Rick Perry workers in 2012 - about twenty of them. As soon as he was out of the race, they disappeared without a trace.

If they’ve looked into his business dealings then they will understand....I put nothing past Trump to win this...he has shown himself to be a bad bet for bankers, business partners, and wives.....if they don’t work the way he wants things to then he drops them regardless of the fallout to innocent people.

That guys just a ruthless as Trump...probably why they liked each other....Trump gravitates to...well like does attract like....

Don King has been investigated for possible connections with 'organized crime'. During a 1992 Senate investigation, King invoked the Fifth Amendment when questioned about his connection to mobster John Gotti. In public, however, King has strongly denied any connections to organized crime and has responded to mob allegations by calling them "racist".

Mike Tyson, the former undisputed World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, says of his former manager, ..

"(King is) a wretched, slimy, reptilian mo*herf*cker. This is supposed to be my 'black brother', right? He's just a bad man, a real bad man. ..He would kill his own mother for a dollar... He's ruthless, he's deplorable, he's greedy ... and he doesn't know how to love anybody."

Good topic. It is separate from any particular candidate.

Let’s trade stories on what works and what doesn’t.

In 7 precincts of a working class Chicago suburb that went 55% D for president I knocked on every single door several times. It took significant time evenings and weekends...but no more time than I now spend on internet places like FR.
I registered about 300 to vote. I met others who agreed with me and they also went door to door.

My most successful activity was giving people a choice of 3 petitions in the summer when there was no election:
Raise taxes
Keep taxes the same
Lower taxes

People respected me because I gave them a choice and did not just circulate one petition, my own preference.

The next election was a 3 way race between the Union Democrat slate, the GOPe slate of the governor, and the anti-GOPe conservative slate. We turned the area from 55% D to 65% for the conservative slate.

150 of the 300 I had registered to vote were Hispanic in an area that was heavily Hispanic (anchor babies all grown up).
I got 100% of the Hispanic vote (except 1 Puerto Rican on welfare). I got about 20 or 25% of the Black vote. Where I lost was among divorced and sexually active women who see the government as their safety net.

But subsequent to that the GOPe ran an extremely anti-Hispanic Attorney General for Governor. As county prosecutor and then as AG he framed a Hispanic for murder and the death penalty despite the facts that were extremely obvious that the pothead was only guilty of shoplifting and no use to the prosecution in his role of paid informant because he was such a pathetic liar. And of course, the AG did this to try to convince conservatives he was tough on crime.

So the area that went 65% conservative flipped and went 80% D.

I moved out of the area. A Black pastor’s wife (think Mrs Alan Keyes) took over the area. With the Union Democrats and GOPe supporting the same slate against the conservative slate, her slate won with 87% of the vote. She got 100% of the Hispanic vote as I had. She did much better with the Black vote than I did. She probably did better with the Asian vote than I did. She lost the white promiscuous women vote, as I did.

Then the GOP image flipped from pro-immigration to anti-immigration. The longtime Republican arch-conservative Congressman (100% ACU) was famous for being extremely pro-immigration. So the Republican image was pro-immigration. The Union Democrat image was anti-immigration. When the images flipped, the Republicans lost big time.

What can be learned from this is that voters can shift parties and are not locked into anyone party. This was especially true of immigrants who come in neutral to all political parties.

Hard work is required to get voters to shift your way
Hard work can be quickly destroyed by stupidity on the part of a candidate...or a movement that appears to be the image of the party.

I haven’t participated in things like this, but I have talked to people who have, and they say exactly what you have. You can have a big impact one on one if you do it right.

I may disagree with people on one subject, but I don’t have to be mean about it. Let that rest until an opportunity comes up to address it with them.

Like you said, give them choices and try to explain things so they can agree with you on common ground.

Good for you. I like the process you advocate here, and I salute you for doing it.
