Their idiotic claim is that the uniform makes the difference because *everyone* knows who the good guy is. They argue that people not in uniform will create a domino effect of “good guys shooting good guys” because nobody knows who the good guy is.
Yes, they really believe it. They have to otherwise they concede the argument that there’s positives to an armed populace. More and more people are going to see that the left are just divorced from reality.

Liberals want to allow enemy aliens to kill you on the one hand and on the other hand, they want to make it impossible for you to defend yourself from them by confiscating your guns.

In the meantime, the jihadis had a field day taking their time murdering their unarmed victims at will. They tortured a number of them, including disemboweling with knives some of the wounded and letting them die slowly, screaming. It was hell on earth but not much talked about - at least in the U.S. media which always prefers to avert their journalistic eyes to Muslim atrocities.
I'd prefer to take my chance carrying a gun instead of trying to hold in my bleeding guts with my own hands, thanks. I'd rather not depend on luck, the mercy of bloodthirsty jihadis, or the swiftness of the police with their officially "approved" weapons and slow and deliberate procedures.
If at least 1% (say, 13) of the concert goers had concealed firearms readily available and used them during the attack, the numbers of dead and wounded would likely have been far fewer. Just knocking off a few of these jihadis during the carnage would have made an enormous difference in the outcome.
