During the November 20 airing of Real Time with Bill Maher, California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) pro-gun control comments were countered by Maher’s observation that being armed during a Paris-style attack would at least give citizens a fighting chance to survive.
According to MRC/Newsbusters, Maher stepped in to defend the option of being armed for self-defense after Newsom dismissed the idea of a good guy with a gun having any real success against bad guys with guns.
Newsom said, “I just simply, this sort of mythology, the guy with the gun that’s going to come save the day, I mean, so right out of the movies, sort of this gun-slinging fantasy. The reality is, it’s most likely to create more harm, more damage, more lost lives in those circumstances.â€

Every once in a while my opinion jibes with that of the ugliest man in the world (inside and out). It’s sort of chilling.
This universe is not run, in the end, by men. It’s run by God.
God has means of teaching lessons. If you care enough about your neighbor, you will also consider some way of defending your neighbor from rogues who cannot be reasoned with.
Just goes to prove, even the biggest idiot on the planet can stumble on truth if he’s not careful.
If a good guy with a gun won’t do any good, then why call the cops?

I guess Maher doesn’t understand that the left wants us to be defenseless against the jihad.

We might start giving more glory to God, because we’re going to have to do that in the end anyhow, so to start now will make it less of a shock.
God can direct “the biggest idiot on the planet” into truth in spite of other things that militate against it. So now he no longer is the biggest idiot on the planet, and Satan loses at least some of the sheen on one more of his would-be trophy exhibits.
If he discovers that it is God who is educating him, he will go past that point and be godly.
Mar will do something to balance it out, and it won’t be pretty.
He can’t change his spots.
I can’t believe Kimberly Guilfoyle was married to that liberal nutcase Gavin Newsome. Has any of her co-hosts on Fox ever asked her how she got with that guy in the first place as liberal as he is and she is a supposed conservative lawyer, but in actuality is more of a RINO.
Maher has been a disturbed liberal for so long that he should have learned by now the the establishment political left doesn’t care whether it protects citizens or not; it’s interest is in absolute power, control and the elimination of all vestiges of a middle class and of any opposition party in order to cement its control for all time. Is this guy so stupid that he doesn’t even know the agenda of his own people?
Gavin, old boy, when disaster strikes and SHTF, it is very hard to make things worse. What ever a citizen does to improve the situation will probably make things better.
If that is where the fate only seen by God (and dimly perceived by Satan) goes. If, big if.
However God has not installed you in the seat of decision here.
Sometimes lessons learned long ago by many people (even “conservatives”) get taken to heart only when the moment of truth comes. It’s too convenient to live by inertia until that point.
I sometimes wonder if liberals believe that the only reason people don’t murder other people continuously is because they lack the means
