GOP frontrunner Ben Carson, in a 1998 commencement address, floated his own personal theory that the pyramids in Egypt were built by Joseph -- the biblical patriarch known for his coat of many colors -- to store grain, Buzzfeed reported.
In the speech -- given at Andrews University, a school with ties to Carson's Seventh-day Adventist faith -- the neurosurgeon shot down claim that aliens had built the pyramids. But he also disagreed with the archaeological consensus that the pyramids were constructed as tombs for the pharaohs.
âMy own personal theory is that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain,â Carson said. âNow all the archeologists think that they were made for the pharaohsâ graves. But, you know, it would have to be something awfully big if you stop and think about it. And I donât think itâd just disappear over the course of time to store that much grain.â ADVERTISING

“The issue is irrelevant.
An old statement on an irrelevant issue.”
But jawdroppingly dumb!
Okey doke . . .
“Dammit, Jim! I’m a retired doctor, not a retired archaeologist!”
Maybe he said that after a few at a cocktail party.
The problem with someone like Carson running for his first public office is that he’s never had to run the gauntlet of opposition research that will turn up juicy little items like this that tend to disqualify someone at a much lower level.
One good thing about the old system of party bosses and machines is that they basically screened the candidates before letting them run for any office and avoided such surprises in their candidates.
So when you and the rest of all the respective candidates' supporters successfully help the MSM destroy those you disagree with, who's going to be left? Jesus?.....I don't think He's interested.....LOL!
LOL! You’re right! I was in the field for 35 years as an archaeologist, and I can tell you right now that a great number of them don’t know anything else. Some don’t know archaeology very well...
Doesn’t say much about his ability to identify government waste
