Pope Francis Says Weapons Manufacturers Shouldn’t Call Themselves Christians
NYMAG ^ | June 21, 2015 | NYMAG

Pope Francis, who's been espousing pro-life positions in all senses of the term, took a moment on Sunday to inform those involved in weapons manufacturing that they're not really Christians. "If you trust only men you have lost," he told thousands of young people during a rally in the Italian city of Turin. "It makes me think of ... people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn't it?" The crowd applauded and he went on to criticize those who invest in weapons industries, saying, "duplicity is the currency of today ... they say one thing and do another."

I guess Jesus wasn’t a Christian.

Jesus wasn't a follower of Jesus? LOL, you're killing me.

You might want to think before you post next time.

Jesus was born a Jew, lived as a Jew and died as a Jew. As the son of G_d he begat the movement we know today (by his name) as the Christianity.

As a Christian, I know him as a Jew and the Son of G_d ... not as a Christian. He founded the religious beliefs that I follow and I acknowledge him as my Lord and Savior.

Jesus told the apostles to go BUY swords. I guess Jesus wasn’t a Christian.

He did not prohibit self defense.

He appointed McElroy as archbishop of San Diego—who was famous for a 2006 article in AMERICA, promoting the mortal sin of giving Communion to Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, John Kerry, etc. He appointed Cupich to Chicago, same thing. Wuerl, Chaput, Dolan, O’Malley, DiNardo—all publicly committed to giving Communion to pro-aborts. Not a peep from the Pope. Only about ten American bishops and two or three in Western Europe, DON’T give Communion to supporters of abortion, gay marriage, etc.

Lighten up. It is a joke. Of course Jesus wasn’t a Christian. LOL. On more serious matters, didn’t the prophecies from Fatima give the number of the last pope? Ain’t this it? He sure sounds like what I would be expecting, being on the same page, “cut from the same cloth” as 0bama. As I understand it the last pope is supposed to not exactly be the Vicar of Christ. If you get my meaning. What I have seen of this latest letter sounds a whole lot like Bammy’s, “I believe in collective salvation” which is straight out of the liberation/social justice theology which may be a quite interesting religion in it’s own right but it ain’t the message Christ brought. I can’t see God telling Jeremiah in a Southern drawl, “I knew y’all before you were born.”

OMG I miss both of them. Pope John Paul II was truly a man of God and never compromised God’s law to fit into today society or world.

So making guns or loving guns is a sin eh? Wonder what centuries of hunters and people who have used weapons for self defense or merely sport of any kind have to say about that.

Do politicians who vote for killing babies call themselves Christians?

The most honored Catholics in America are pro-abortion Catholics.

Look at their funerals, which are huge Catholic events.

I am certain that there is no prophecy connected with any approved apparition that is that specific—i.e., that would say exactly WHICH Pope is the “bad one.”

Personally, I don’t think either Obama or Bergoglio is the one. Not smart enough. Not flashy enough. The real false prophet and the real anti-Christ will fool even more people than any of the mis-leaders who have yet come on the scene.

I find Walid Shoebat very interesting. Of course, in Catholic tradition, the term “anti-Christ” is used of ONE individual near the end of time, but also, analogically (which is typically Catholic), of many others in history.

Shoebat says that Islam is anti-Christ. It fits St. John’s definition of anti-Christ because it wiped out belief in the Trinity (which is the absolute heart of Christianity), in most of the then-Christian world.

Certainly Planned Parenthood is anti-Christ—and has been called “the anti-Church.” Interesting that a fallen-away Catholic founded it—and where do you think she got the idea for something that you SWALLOW that makes you sterile?

Obama is a mass murderer. He no longer cares if sentient people (i.e., people who wouldn’t vote for him in a million years) see his delight in the slaughter of Christians. He can depend on the praetorian guard of the media to smear anyone who would dare say the truth in public.

I think Bergoglio is an old, conventional, lefty Latin American. He has been incoherent his whole public life, but now I think he’s slipping into senility. The REAL “bad Pope” will be much smarter, and fool many, many more people.

Looks to me like the Pope is throwing bombs of his own as well. I didn’t realize the Vatican was a glass house.

The last one, in Wilmington, Delaware, had Cardinal McCarrick, Malooly, the local bishop, and Vigano, the Papal Nuncio.

A church packed with, almost exclusively, pro-abortion politians and activists. Communion for everybody!

I do not pretend to know Catholic Doctrine but this Pope seems to be hell bent on a liberal doctrine of Holocaust.

He pretends folks need no protection inside of 75 years of gas chambers.

I’m sorry Mr. Pope. I disagree.

God did not allow me here just to get murdered by Satan.

So Catholic doctrine does not teach who literally is the ‘anti-Christ’? ‘anti-Christ’ is instead of Christ, playing the role as Christ, wherein all but the very elect will be deceived. Islam does not have that kind of supernatural power to deceive.

Who tempted Christ? Christ sure did not need the tempting. Christ was teaching who would be allowed to play that role and we are given the script as to what the devil would be using to deceive. Christ was not the least bit tempted. But this world is filled with all religions all ready to eat and drink up that temptation. The Bible tells us so.

***took a moment on Sunday to inform those involved in weapons manufacturing that they’re not really Christians.***

Is this a downgrade for the Patron Saints ....

St Erasmus, Ammo makers and ordinance workers http://www.frfrogspad.com/steramus.htm

St Dunstan, Armorers and gunsmiths. http://www.frfrogspad.com/dunstan.htm

St Sebastian, Archers, armorers metal workers and police http://www.frfrogspad.com/stseb.htm

St Possenti, handgunners and marksmen http://www.frfrogspad.com/stpossen.htm

And possibly St Eloy, patron of blacksmiths and armorors?

along with a few others.
