LOS ANGELES Vincent Bugliosi, a prosecutor who parlayed his handling of the Charles Manson trial into a career as a bestselling author, has died, his son said Monday night. He was 80 years old.
Bugliosi, who had struggled with cancer in recent years, died Saturday night at a hospital in Los Angeles, his son, Vincent Bugliosi Jr., told The Associated Press.
Bugliosi Jr. said his father had "an unflagging dedication to justice" in everything he did.

VB wrote a good book on the OJ Simpson trial also.
In later years he turned pretty Liberal “Flakey”.
Hope he saw the light before he passed. Recently I read his book, “Divinity of Doubt,” where he claimed to be making the case for atheism. All he made was an utter fool of himself. A surprisingly bad book from a former prosecutor, mostly attacking Christianity. The few pages on Islam could have been taken from a paperback desk encylopedia — just 3 or so pages of facts and factoids. The 1-star reviews on amazon say it all.
VB did the job right on Charles Manson.
It’s too damned bad the monster wasn’t put to death...
Sadly, he subscribed to atheistic, radical left wing kook politics. May God have mercy on his soul.
Bugliosi passes away and that evil Manson still lives. Albeit behind bars, but he’s still living.
You are so right!
It was as though he lost his mind. He was brilliant and became totally un-understandable.
I don’t remember the name of one of his books that I bought for 25 cents. After reading about 10 pages I tore the book up and sent him a letter telling him what I did and why.
Hopefully he had a change of mind on Sunday. One hopes.
The judge in the Manson trial had flown with the Flying Tigers in WWII and was appointed to the bench by Governor Reagan. VB had his moments of brilliance as a prosecutor and author. As noted above, his dissection of the OJ Simpson trial was the best analysis of the entire fiasco, but he later descended into liberal madness and Bush Derangement Syndrome. RIP Vince.
I hope he did as well. As an attorney, I admired his work, but as a conservative Christian, I pitied him. He arrogantly trusted his own intellect over God’s Word.
I read “And The Sea Will Tell”. It was a fascinating book about how he got a murderess off in the case of the killing of a couple on the Island of Palmyra.
The BS meter went off a couple of times especially when he was describing how he cowed the Federal Judge presiding over the case.
Still it was very readable.
VB also offered his services to Gil Garcetti, pro bono, to aide in the prosecution of OJ, but Garcetti's, (whose ego may have exceeded VB's) turned him down.
Garcetti deserves far more credit then he gets for the role he played in OJ's acquittal
The book has a fatal flaw: It virtually ignored the rulings by the Florida SC that would have put Gore in the WH.
1) Of all the murderers, buggerers, thieves and crooks he ever dealt with, Charlie was the only one he was actually afraid of.
2) Proving Manson guilty, while admitting he was not present at the crime scenes, was one of the major hurdles he had to overcome to convict Manson.
3) Charlie made his case for him though. After he carved the X (later changed to a swastika) on his forehead and the Manson girls did the same, VB said he looked at the jury and read their faces. The case was made: Charlie had that kind of power.
On a side note: A friend of mine worked at Vacaville while Charlie was there, she confirmed VB statement in point 1. She said Charlie scared the hell out of her.
I read the book as well and thought VB's work on that case was brilliant. And he would have been the first to say so.
I think I saw a copy of that “Best Seller” propping open a door in the basement of some rundown home somewhere.
RIP.
That end story must’ve been the Iron Range madness that’s so common up there.
Yeah Gil Garcetti like his son Eric is totally diva I not suprising
