VB wrote a good book on the OJ Simpson trial also.
In later years he turned pretty Liberal “Flakey”.
Hope he saw the light before he passed. Recently I read his book, “Divinity of Doubt,” where he claimed to be making the case for atheism. All he made was an utter fool of himself. A surprisingly bad book from a former prosecutor, mostly attacking Christianity. The few pages on Islam could have been taken from a paperback desk encylopedia — just 3 or so pages of facts and factoids. The 1-star reviews on amazon say it all.
Sadly, he subscribed to atheistic, radical left wing kook politics. May God have mercy on his soul.
Bugliosi passes away and that evil Manson still lives. Albeit behind bars, but he’s still living.
You are so right!
It was as though he lost his mind. He was brilliant and became totally un-understandable.
I don’t remember the name of one of his books that I bought for 25 cents. After reading about 10 pages I tore the book up and sent him a letter telling him what I did and why.
Hopefully he had a change of mind on Sunday. One hopes.
I read “And The Sea Will Tell”. It was a fascinating book about how he got a murderess off in the case of the killing of a couple on the Island of Palmyra.
The BS meter went off a couple of times especially when he was describing how he cowed the Federal Judge presiding over the case.
Still it was very readable.
RIP.

RIP. Don’t know much about him but he started my love of true crime. I bought his Helter Skelter book when I was too young to be reading it, and when the phone rang I’d jump a foot while I was reading it. It being so close to home and all gave me even more creeps.
One time, within a few years of reading it, a friend and I were coming home from the beach, stopped to shop at a little second hand shop in Topanga canyon, and I asked to use the restroom. The proprietor said she didn’t have a restroom, but if I went out to the alley and to the left, there was a little primitive one stall bathroom behind another store. So I did, and when I closed the stall door, the back of it read in huge old, peeling, red paint HELTER SKELTER. Talk about hair standing up.
