VB claimed in that book that he would have convicted OJ on the basis of statements made by OJ to the police, after they went to lunch and OJ dismissed his attorney.

VB also offered his services to Gil Garcetti, pro bono, to aide in the prosecution of OJ, but Garcetti's, (whose ego may have exceeded VB's) turned him down.

Garcetti deserves far more credit then he gets for the role he played in OJ's acquittal
