It's time we have a holiday to honor those who try to stop wars, too (MASSIVE HURL!)

Memorial Day honors those who've perished. It's an annual reminder that wars have grave human costs, which must be both recognized and minimized.

Those costs are not inevitable. We ought to also set aside time to remember those throughout American history who have tried hardest to reduce them, to prevent unnecessary loss of life both American and foreign: war resisters.

War resistors can be heroes....

Those who went to war against Nazis and Communists and Islamonazis WERE trying to stop the wars that were being waged by those groups.

Even in 2003, Bush was stopping the war waged by Saddam Hussein (who’d repeatedly violated the peace agreement from the Gulf War).

Losing a war is easy. Winning a war is more of a challenge.

Well there was this one Russian guy who prevented a nuclear exchange between Russia and the US. It was a spurious ding on his radar that said we launched and he was being yelled at to retaliate but he didn’t. http://gimundo.com/news/article/the-man-who-saved-the-world-by-doing-nothing/

In America, the people who do most to prevent war are in the military and intelligence community.

The author is a nasty small-souled pusillanimous faggot.

Russia now has a doomsday device set up to autolaunch missiles since humans may refuse the order. WIRED wrote about it.

Losing a war is easy. Winning a war is more of a challenge.

The real trick is to make potential enemies crap their pants every time they even think of starting something...

Haven’t you heard that military and intelligence are an oxymoron?

And we SHOULD be candid that sometimes blunders have led into wars that were worse than they needed to be, if they needed to be at all. Often under Democrats, if we need something to demonize to justify the distinction.

Exactly. There are just people who are simply plain ole evil and bad they have to be put down. Effing liberals. Tecumseh Sherman was right. These media types should be shot as they help the enemy.

I'm really tired of that idiotic "joke". It reflects very poorly on the jackasses who say it.

Until you are loathed as pariah, that’s the funny thing about a world, it has to figure out how to get along sooner or later. The USA often refrained. The USSR more ruthless. Yeah we respect terrorists... until we can figure out a way to send them to hell.

Just saying there is a balance in the real world.

. until we can figure out a way to send them to hell.

The problem, right now, is not with the people who figure out how to do that. Nor is it with the people who carry out those plans.

The problem is in the White House.
