Well, it seems Minnesotas largest school district is discussing screening high school students for depression and anxiety in the classroom.
As part of a state grant to improve mental health services, notes this CBS Minnesota article, Anoka-Hennepin schools could offer a screening as soon as next fall. Dr. Nita Kumar, a mental-health consultant for the district, said Friday that the idea is to get students to talk about something they may hide from their parents or not even understand what is happening.

Well, it is for the children. Right? Routine mental health screening doesn't sound like a good plan to me. I heard on somebody's radio show the other day that college freshmen are the most "unsettled/depressed" in the past 30 years. So, does this lead to removal of firearms from folks houses? Does any form of mental "disability" lead to removal? Is there anyone knocking on mark kelly-giffords and gabby's front door? No? Are they "special"?

—while I agree that the removal of “guns” is probably a long term objective, my cynical suspicion is that the aim here is to immediately increase the need for more government-paid “mental heath care specialists” on every school district payroll-—

It is possible that in (mis)using screening procedures some teachers, on purpose or unintentionally, may elicit from students information about firearms stored in their family homes. Such information is none of the teacher's (or other students') business and potentially compromises home security and the safety of the student's family. The parents should be informed when such elicitation is being conducted. In addition school administrators may encourage or pressure teachers or the students themselves to coerce their parents to remove safely-kept firearms from the home.
In order to clarify potential liability of individual teachers, administrators, and the schools, from misuse of screening procedures, concerned parents should present copies of a Physician or Educator Qualifications and Liability Statement to school administrators, teachers and any school-appointed screeners. The Qualifications and Liability Statement provides for a signed acknowledgment that the educator has (or does not have) a certification, license or formal training in Risk Management and that the educator has (or has not) reviewed applicable scientific literature pertaining to defensive gun use, safety, storage, and beneficial results of private firearms ownership.

Notice who provided the funding for the questionnaire. Looks like an advertisement for their anti-depressant products.

Autism is caused nearly 100% by public schools that get bonus money for every student they can claim has a disability of some sort.
As a bonus the welfare leech that spawned them also gets an extra government check for each one.

School certainly depressed me and caused anxiety. It was part of the reason I left home right after I turned fifteen. I would have taken my shotgun with me, but figured I wouldn’t be able to catch a ride.
