set up import? The import locations also are there.

Where? Where is there a surplus 10 billion cubic feet a day Natural Gas import capabilities for Europe. Not the existing ones that are already supplying the other part of the gas the Europe uses in addition to that coming from Russia.

Last year Europe consumed 18.7 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas. Russia supplied 30% (5.7 Tcf) with approximately 16% (3.0 Tcf) flowing through the Ukraine.

does anyone want to sell gas?

Sure, who has 10 billion cubic feet a day space capacity that they are not already producing and selling to someone else? Who has export facilities with that spare capacity? No one.

To give a comparison of scale, the amount of gas Russia supplies to Europe is almost the total amount of approved LNG export terminals in the entire US. The first of those won’t be operational for more than a year. The capacity needed to replace the amount you imagine won’t be online before 2019.

Where would the gas come from, and where would you bring it in?

okay ... let russia think they have game and game over. Game is never over unless one side or the other surrenders after one side or the other is beaten into submission. Should that be russia’s game then as said, ‘Game On’. Is useless to inform me we are defeated. Sorry friend, I do not think that way. Agree to disagree?

did the west really think that not sending weapons and help to Ukraine was going to mollify Mad Vlad? That he would swallow up only Ukraine and then stop?

do these people ever read a history book?

so few are schooled in History ... is a loss that so few are schooled. Those that are schooled have been preparing. Seventy years has been relatively peaceful for preparing to be done. Soon the world will know if enough was done or everyone will back down but doubt there is going to be a backing down by anyone and certainly the moslems are not going to back down.

We may disagree, but understand I do not believe Russia can go without the cash flow anymore than Europe can go without the gas.

“Where is there a surplus 10 billion cubic feet a day Natural Gas import capabilities for Europe.”

Last winter, the UK was down to just SIX DAYS Supply left before it began to warm up, if you will recall. This season is already being forecast as colder.

Norway has already said they won’t/can’t pump more gas, as well. The only spare supply for THIS winter, (and likely the next couple, as well) is (ta-da...) RUSSIA>

Now the rumors are flying that Russia may restrict Palladium supplies to sanctioning nations, and their companies.

They control 41% of the world supply.

Very quickly would be about 5 years from now. This winter, next or the one after, not chance to meet that volume.

Russia will have the same infrastructure problem sending its gas west over the next few years.

Trade is a two way street as always.

What is your time estimate for the completion of South Stream which bypasses Ukraine entirely?

The Putin inspired, funded, and manned rebellion happened after Ukraine had to start fighting to keep its country from being disassembled by Russia.

LOL ! If Russia was some kind of a global hegemon as you claim, they wouldn't need to organize huge propaganda machine and hire thousands of internet trolls in an attempt to create that image. Strong players are simply strong, childish muscle flexing is for weak hyenas.

The pipelines themselves can flow either direction. The compressor stations the drive the gas will have to have the suction and discharge tie-ins switched. That is minor work.

The problem is getting the a source of gas to replace the nearly 6 trillion cubic feet now coming from Russia.
