No matter what you do on the stage
Keep it light, keep it bright, keep it gay!
Whether it’s murder, mayhem or rage
Don’t complain, it’s a pain
Keep it gay!

How about a show about nothing? Wait a minute, Seinfeld already did that.

How about something devoid of queers???

George Wendt plays a wacky Afghan warlord who ritually slaughters homosexuals with hilarious results in "The King Of Not Queens". Coming this fall on NBC!

Lead character:
- female head of “family”
- Progressive to the point of quasi-religious fervro
- she is opinionated and comically stupid

Husband
-wimpy with beard
-submissive and stupid, but in a sweet way
-acts as foil for lead’s bombast

Son
- loves Lead but is a budding conservative
- constant clashing over current events
- tries to talk sense into lead (unsuccessfully)

Daughter in Law
- solidly advocates liberty
- constant argue head with Lead
- doesn’t have daughter’s patience

How about a show about a bar with funny bar tenders and goofy customers?

Okay. There's this guy, see?, and he works into every sentence he utters that he served in Vietnam and it turns out that he recommended himself for several Purple Hearts even though the injuries were not suffered in actual combat but as the result of reckless activities on his part including putting hand grenades into barrels of rice but he can't get away from the barrel before the grenade goes off and he ends up with hundreds of rice kernels or whatever they are called embedded in his azz.

Anyway, fast forward a few years and now the guy is testifying before a Senate committee on the egregious actions of his fellow soldiers in Vietnam and then he goes on to become Secretary of State and.....

On second thought, never mind. Nobody would ever believe such a ludicrous story line.

Here’s one:

An awesome really-hip gay couple discovers that the people next door are a gay couple that are loved by young people today. Hilarity ensues.

Your formula is exactly WHY Bob Newhart refused to play a dad on TV. Because TV dads are always all of the pathetic stereotypes you have listed.

When ratings were sagging for The Bob Newhart Show they came up with a script where Emily becomes pregnant. They showed it to Newhart, who responded “This is hilarious! Truly one of the funniest scripts I have ever read. You have done a great job. I just have one question.

Who are you going to get to play Bob?”

How about the home life of a mild mannered zombie vampire stud from New Jersey who anchors the Nightly News...

Yes, they went Gay-C Penney for awhile and then back-tracked. Not sure how that’s working out ‘cuz I haven’t been back since I bought a sport coat from the men’s department and the butt-pirate on staff was trying to flirt with me.

I don’t get it either. I’m a RAGING, unapologetic heterosexual. Aren’t they supposed to have super spidey gay-dar or something? Sheesh.

Newhart was a great talent.

Glance over my proposal again, though and see if it sounds familiar in another way.

Okay, I got it. There's this really short guy, see?, who is a sportscaster who never actually played any sports in his life but he wants to be taken seriesly as a journalist so he interjects his political beliefs into his segments during football games and something called The Olympics but then when he's called out on his tirades he goes to hilarious lengths to explain away that he wasn't REALLY promoting his own political beliefs and......

On second thought. Cancel that. Nobody would ever believe such a pathetic, contemptible garden gnome could exist.

If Bill Macy had had a beard, that would have described Maude to a T.
