Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted Irans invitation to visit Tehran to work out a strategy for the Islamic regimes nuclear program, Fars News Agency reported Saturday. The West believes the Iranian program is a front for developing nuclear weapons.
Putin, seen by Irans clerical establishment as a strong opponent to America and the West especially after his successful political play on averting a U.S. missile strike on Syria was approached by Iran to protect the Islamic regime in the face of continued pressure by the West over its illicit nuclear program. Russia and the U.S. reached agreement Saturday to take control of Syrian President Bashar Assads chemical weapons arsenal by mid-2014.
Fars, the media outlet run by Irans Revolutionary Guards, said Putin will soon travel to Tehran, although details of the trip have yet to be announced. Fars said Iranian President Hassan Rowhani issued the invitation to Putin on Friday while both leaders were attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Putins spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said the Russian president accepted.
Russia could possibly take new steps in solving the Iranian nuclear dossier, Rowhani said. The Russian initiative in relation to the Syrian chemical weapons and the steps taken by the Syrian officials provide this hope that a new war can be averted in the region.
Russia looks at Iran like a good neighbor, Putin was quoted as saying. I am very happy meeting the new Iranian president and personally congratulate him for his [recent presidential] victory.
We are aware of the opinions on the worlds stage in relation with Irans nuclear program; however, we have to also consider that Iran is our neighbor, a good neighbor. . . .

At least Mussolini’s intent was to create a Greater Italy. Obama’s intent is to do the exact opposite with the US.
“Isnt the same can apply to US?”
No. And that’s what makes us different from other countries. Yes, we have our own interests, but in getting involved we genuinely want to help others. That’s why we are known world-over for our generosity and charity. Russia doesn’t give a cr&p about helping anyone else unless they’re getting a big payoff for themselves.
“When we fight wars, we need to DECLARE war and fight like we did in WWII.”
I agree.
The problems in Egypt & Syria go back to the beginnings of their protests. They started with students and people who wanted a more democratic government. Neither one started with MB or alqaeda types involved....those groups move in when there’s a vacuum or when they see that it’s opportunistic to do so because the West is standing by the sidelines not wanting to get involved.
The time to help in Syria was 2 yrs ago.
“FReepers dont believe what obama does will ultimately be in US interest and like watching him flounder”
Maybe some. But I’ve seen more who think that Bush shouldn’t have involved or that we can’t afford to get involved or are just isolationists.
We can’t afford not to get involved, because the cost to get back the position that we held in the world, is astronomical in $, time & lives.
I agree with you about that. The mb killed sadat and zawahiri was involved in that. Mubarak put them underground and obama then encouraged them and backed them starting with his Cairo speech. Have a great weekend pal.
All made possible by Obama and his maggot democrats.
“..but in getting involved we genuinely want to help others..”
Many times good intention cause more problems than help. Just look at Iraq, Libya ,Afghanistan. More people died there after so called help. Main problem is that American people have perception that everyone around the world have the same mentality. Good example is Saddam Hussein. He was a brutal dictator but had complete control. Look at Iraq now. Number of casualties after he was overthrown way above that was under his regime.
Chinese businessmen run both countries. Almost all the wealthy are Chinese in both countries. Good luck with that pivot when your economy is in tatters Obama. It’s insane for the US to think they can run East Asia in this century.
I would like to see the back and forth winking going on between these two scammers. I wouldn’t trust anything coming out of this meeting as far as I could spit.
Rubbing it in the boy wonder’s face.
In some cases, yes.
But that wasn’t the point.
The point was, we’re NOT like Russia.
There are so many arrogant condescending [they imagine themselves to be so-]”enlightened” [and allegedly-]”intellectuals” of the Obama Regime and his Palace Media ...
Who all criticized Sarah Palin as being the potential author of the very prospect in this story, that Obama, THEIR DEAR LEADER FOR WHOM THEY PAID (USING OUR MONEY) AND VOTED (USING DEAD PEOPLE AND ILLEGAL ALIENS), has brought down upon himself, his regime, and our country and people.
Think Obama has lost the “Leader of the free world” title, Putin just walked up and ripped it off him.
Who is actually listening to Obama now....NOBODY.
Actually, It could and most likely did happen-—repeatedly. Russia and Iran have been good buds at least since WW II. And we (US ) helped. During WWII we sent railroad experts to help improve Iran’s north/south rail road so that we could supply Stalin with aluminum and Studebaker trucks thru the back door. To this day that rail line is a major supply route for central Russia. As long as Iran has cash to buy Ivan’s stuff you can expect they will remain tight-—just no surprise here if you’ve been paying attention for the last half century.
Putin IS the BIG kid on the block now.
When Obama said we need to press the ‘reset’ button, he wasn’t kidding.
“Nature abhors a vacuum and lack of US leadership invites Putin to fill the void.”
BINGO!
This is not going well and Obama is not the person who should be in charge. This is the edge of war.
