Last August, President Obama drew his line in the Syrian sand. "We have been very clear to the Assad regime, but also to other players on the ground, that a red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or being utilized. That would change my calculus. That would change my equation."
A year later two things are clear: 1) There was no equation; it was just Obama talking nonsense. 2.) He bluffed without a plan.
The United States of America has no business attacking Syria. Our national security is not at stake. The one and only reason we are on the verge of war is because the President thought it personally advantageous to rattle the sabers just before the 2012 election.

Where is Cindy Sheehan and her ilk?
“According to the French academic Dominique Reynié, between January 3 and April 12, 2003, 36 million people across the globe took part in almost 3,000 protests against the Iraq war.[3]”

I’m guessing that he was off-teleprompter when he said this? Usually it’s just embarrassing. This time, dangerous.
S’pose Barry will just have to, uh, recalibrate. Heh.
Does anyone really think this dork could even spell 'calculus?'
I love to compare this photo to the one of Putin riding a Harley.
There are no discernable "good guys" with whom to associate in Syria. Certainly, Bashar al-Assad is a very bad guy; but the rebel opposition--much of which is associated with al-Qaeda--does not impress me as the very apotheosis of democratic purity, either.
What complicates the matter, in my opinion, is the fact that President Obama--most unwisely, in my opinion--drew a "red line" about a year ago, as regarding the use (or even the movement) of chemical weapons. For the president to ignore his own "red line," I believe, would make America appear impotent and unserious; and that could have some very serious ramifications in the Middle East. One of those ramifications would be for Iran to interpret the inaction as a green light for it to proceed with its nuclear-weapons program.
In the end, therefore, I remain quite conflicted about this matter: As a matter of policy, I am not at all certain that America should be involved in a civil war in the Middle East that pits Syria, Iran, and Hezbollah (on one side) against elements of al-Qaeda (on the other side). We might very well help to topple one bad guy, only to wind up with an even worse result.
Yet I am also very concerned that if we do nothing at all, the US will no longer be taken seriously by either our allies or our enemies in the Middle East...
IIRC , he was off prompter .
HILARIOUS!! Is that a girls bicycle?
It was bravado that caused the world to view us as this bugs bunny cartoon. I dare you to step over this line.... OK this line.

There’s another reason: Bluelips loves him some muslim brotherhood and will do anything he can to help them.
Or the Robin Williams’ routine about Kadaffy:
“This is a ‘Line of Death. You cross it, you die.”
“Ok, you cross THIS line you die.”
“Ok, you cross THIS line you die.”
“This line, you die.”
“OK, you’re knocking on my door, I’m not coming out......Naaaah!”
It wouldn't be the first time.
We don't support Israeli attack, US tells Iran September 12, 2012
0bama sent a message to Tehran assuring them that the U.S. will do nothing to help Israel.
What have arrogant narcissists ever done to deserve being compared with Barack Obama?
Don’t. Worry.
Once Obama came out for gay marriage, 90 percent of the world lost all respect for him and us.
Red lines have been meaningless since then.
He told them not to call his bluff.
He is so gay. And what’s with the “loping” down the steps off AF One or up onto a stage? I keep hoping he’ll trip over his big feet and bust his butt.
