WASHINGTON, DC House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) today issued the following joint statement.
Under the Constitution, the responsibility to declare war lies with Congress. We are glad the president is seeking authorization for any military action in Syria in response to serious, substantive questions being raised. In consultation with the president, we expect the House to consider a measure the week of September 9th. This provides the president time to make his case to Congress and the American people.
Yeah and ask him if it’s at all possible that the rebels mishandled the gas killing its own people but blaming assad to get us involved bcause they cant do it
In view of this congressional debate, I hope the September Cruz/Paul event at the capitol is still on for the 10th. The rally is planned for that day @ 12pm.
I reamed out John Cornyn’s office today when they called asking for money. It’s sterile, crap statements like this thta make me crazy. That statement means absolutely nothing.
Always been his escape plan he passes the buck congress will vote no (which is the only good thing) then hes off the hook and tells his terrorist buddies he tried but his hands are tied and he also gets to label republicans in 2014/2016 election cycle as hippocrites that didnt go after real WMDs while people are slaughtered etc... Once again he floats a total false flag op and we are swept out of power by low info voters and bleeding hearts...The End
Gosh. They decided to come out of hiding. Right after dear leader said they could.
The House should hold hearings on this and begin by asking where the Sarin chemical weapons came from.
If Saudi, then trouble. If Iraq, then GWB was right.
I bet Benghazi was about these weapons and their delivery systems.
Weren’t there reports in late 2003 that Saddam moved his chem weapons into the Bekaa Valley in Syria? It wouldn’t surprise me if Assad was able to dig them up.
Here is one going around and seems all the evidence is leading to a mishandling of weapons......http://www.examiner.com/article/breaking-news-rebels-admit-gas-attack-result-of-mishandling-chemical-weapons
McCain and Graham are deeply saddened.
How convenient for Waldo and the 3 stooges to come out after the fact!
Where has Waldo Boehner been? How convenient for him to come out
Uh, most people on both sides of the spectrum say no to this. What type of campaign issue can he make with that?
Exactly! Waldo and the 3 stooges have been AWOL until after the fact.
“Werent there reports in late 2003 that Saddam moved his chem weapons into the Bekaa Valley “
There was a great pic on a thread a couple days ago, of hundreds of trucks leaving an Iraqi weapons depo. Anybody got it?

Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt’s military — even as Cairo’s security forces massacre anti-government activists.
[by “anti-government activists” is meant church-burning jihadists]
Probably smoking weed with his son in law.
