Weren’t there reports in late 2003 that Saddam moved his chem weapons into the Bekaa Valley in Syria? It wouldn’t surprise me if Assad was able to dig them up.

There was a great pic on a thread a couple days ago, of hundreds of trucks leaving an Iraqi weapons depo. Anybody got it?

The Bekaa valley is in Lebanon.

Not that that necessarily invalidates the point you make: Assad (and his father before him) have largely controlled Lebanon and its government for much of the past 40 years.
