Four central Pennsylvania residents said they used only a rope and a flashlight during a wild chase to rescue a young bear whose head had been stuck in a plastic jar for at least 11 days.

Area residents first spotted the 100-pound bruin with its head in a red jar on June 3, but it eluded game wardens.

I think this is a real heartwarming story that people had the tenacity to follow the bear and help him, even though it definitely wasn't an easy task.

Nice to know that there are such people around.

I thought, `No one is going to believe us,"' said Morgan Laskowski, 22, the bartender at the Jamison City Hotel and a member of the impromptu bear-wrangling team.

Yeah....Morgan, you're right. Absolutely worthless without pictures and I'm not going to thread bounce throughout all internet helldom to find one.

“And I remember ... it was way back in 2013 ... that our glorious leader Barack Hussein Obama, peace be upon his name, freed the bears. I remember reading about it in the paper. ‘Course that was before newspapers became illegal.”

Jurbala saw the bear Thursday night as he was leaving the bar at the Jamison City Hotel...

And

...They cornered the bear in a resident's backyard, where it ended up falling into a pool a couple of times.

Whoever put into the topics as “not news” is wrong.

This was at FOXNEWS as part of “latest news”.

Sometime heartwarming news are news also — I much rather read this, than that Kerry is humbling the US to N Korea and Iran.

“I wonder how this poor animal survived without water for that long?”

If air could get into the jar it stands to reason that water could as well.

Might it have stuck it head, jar and all, into a lake/river and drank the water that leaked into the jar? No reason to think it didn't, it did have 11 days to figure it out.

Many years ago my wife and I were driving along the interstate near our home. It was bounded by a three foot wire fence with about five inch square openings. Off in the distance I saw a dog. Looked odd, though. It was trotting erratically back and forth in the adjoining field. As we got closer, I could see that something was on its head. I stopped, got out of my pickup, walked up next to the fence and began calling the dog. Well, this gave it something to home in on, and the erraticness dissipated. I kept calling and it kept coming closer to me. Finally, the dog was just across the fence from me and I could reach through and pull off a half-gallon milk carton that it had wedged its head into.

That was one very grateful dog. If it could have gotten through the fence, it would have climbed into my pocket.

Uh huh.

See any pink elephants, too?

I assume it was Jurbala, not the bear, that was leaving the bar.
