Rush Limbaugh: Same-sex marriage will be legal nationwide By Chris Moody, Yahoo! News | The Ticket – 57 mins ago

On his radio program on Wednesday, conservative host Rush Limbaugh predicted that same-sex marriage would eventually be made legal "nationwide," regardless of how the Supreme Court rules in cases on the subject later this year.

From the show transcript:

A lot of people have no personal animus against gay people at all. It's instead, you know, a genuine, I don't know, love/respect for the things they believe define this country as great. They get up every day and they see all this stuff under attack. They see it all under assault. And I think they're just worried about the survivability of the country. And to which the opponents say, "Well, the country's changing and you better get with it and understand it because this genie's not getting put back in the bottle." And I think that's right. I don't care what this court does with this particular ruling, Proposition 8. I think the inertia is clearly moving in the direction that there is going to be gay marriage at some point nationwide.

Shifting public opinion on legalized same-sex marriage would pose significant problems for the Republican Party, which relies heavily on a large voting base of social conservatives who could abandon the GOP if the party abandons its opposition. The official platform of the Republican Party still calls for a constitutional amendment that would restrict marriage to one man and one woman.

Limbaugh, who's unsure of what would happen to the party if it changes its position, also said:

Yep. Which will also weaken the 1st amendment and open the door for broad reaching hate speech laws, which will ultimately signal the end of organized religion as we know- which had been the goal all along.

The masses will be made to believe in government as the almighty creator of life, happiness and equality.

Government will be god.

“So when the fags finally get marriage will they finally shut the f### up?”

Not on your life, hattend. Methinks this is only the beginning.

They won't shut up until they can have sex with children at will and have the parents put in jail if they object. I'm not joking.

Limbaugh is a sickening gasbag social liberal. There is no point in listening to him at all.

I started listening to him when he was local in Sacramento.

Then a few years later he changed. Now he’s worse than useless, bascially telling his listeners to BOHICA and swallow the entire homonazi agenda.

He nauseates me.

If it is legalized as a nation GOD will judge us as a nation. Two Choices left for U.S. One Nation Under GOD or One Nation Under Judgment.

Fags shut up?

No way. They want to make every criticism of fagdom illegal, illegal to reaise children not to succumb to fagdom, illegal not to serve fags in any way they wish, and on and on.

If the SCOTUS rules the wrong way, mass civil disobedience is the only recoures I can think of.

And people should turn Limbaugh off.

Gay “marriage” is the legal means to sue religions into obscurity.

Speaking out against it will be punishable by law.

Genesis 19:9
And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

If the Supreme Court leaves it to the states the gay lobby will be able to bring another challenge based on equal protection. Gay couple in one state can file taxes as married but in another state they have to file as single.

And people should turn Limbaugh off.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter what he says. We're not going to get a vote. It's up to the courts, and being swayed by the people in power, namely RINO members of Congress.

The left will find d a case, probable involving health insurance or some other employment benefit, and then claim all states must recognize same-sex marriage under the interstate-commerce ruse.

Nah, it'll be a Full Faith & Credit case. It'll be very hard without DOMA to prove why you can recognize this marriage from a state, but not that marriage.

“When gay marriage is legal, marriage will mean nothing.”

Uh...for too many this point has been reached already. And may be that, in part, accounts for why we’re at where we’re at.

I agree, same with citizenship after illegals get their amnesty.

A certain part of this is economic—Driven by the desire of employed individuals to share company-provided benefits with their “partners.”

I, for one, am positioning myself and my company to no longer offer any benefits to any of my employees.

Wonder if the perverts saw that coming.

There are federal payments involved for SS survivor benefits. Federal pensions, federal health care for spouses. There are tax breaks for married couples.

If the Federal government wasn’t involved in cradle to grave oversight and involvement in our lives and pocketbooks, I would agree with you that the Federal government has no say in the matter.

If you got the Federal government out of all of these areas and make people buy/fund their own pensions and health care and get marriage out of the tax laws with the FairTax, we could tell them that it is none of their business.

Once the government starts shoving our own tax dollars and borrowed money to socially engineer America, they do call the tune.

The solution is to dismantle our over reaching government.

He is a gasbag who cares nothing about constitutional principles and the morals upon which our republic is founded. He’s a diversion at best. He used to be quite a bit better. Why waste precious human life listening to someone who is entirely self serving, while pretending to be wise and knowledgeable and able to impart something of value to be worthy of listening to?

He is instilling defeatism, and that is why I loathe him.
