Last night I went to a Western Union to send money. There was a young black woman ahead of me who was asked for her ID in order to send money. She became very irate with the guys working there and saying she never had to do that before. The Western Union guys insisted it was a new law made for the IRS that came into place this 2013.
They finally had to have a security guard escort the woman from their place of business because she was getting very confrontational about having to show ID.
In any case, this is the first time I've heard of this law. Is there really such a thing? Does anyone know about this?
The only thing I know about it is that it is obviously racist.
There’s the answer. Put the IRS in charge of voting.
I have had to show a photo ID. I used my drivers license (without thinking, I guess).
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahahaha! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
You better duck. But I agree with you.
from western union FAQ:
]Q: Do I need anything to send money?
A: Nothing is needed to send to certain areas of the world but in some cases for certain areas and certain dollar amounts an ID is needed and is few cases more information is needed but you will usually know anything else that we will need.
I’m not surprised a photo ID is needed. Next up is your social security number.
How can the IRS stoop to this level. Don’t they know that a law that requires one to present a photo ID in order to wire transfer funds is going to be an insurmountable obstacle for the poor minorities and illegals. After all, aren’t they the largest group that uses Western Union to transfer money?
Do the Democrats know about this yet? This regulation is paramount to requiring a photo ID in order to vote. This simply cannot be allowed to stand.
Yes, it’s true.
I witnessed it months ago when I escorted my Filipino bud who wanted to send dough to his cousins in Toronto. These clowns even photocopy your ID! Here’s the alternative: you know those mexican check cashing places? They don’t need no stinking ID. It’s good when you have mexicans in your circle who spill this info..
The IRS is trying to put black people in chains. Someone alert Joe Biden.
Did you have to show your I.D. too?
The last few times I have traveled by air, I have shown my CCW license for my photo ID, to TSA. It always requires a supervisor to say it is OK.
When I voted, they refused my CCW as a valid means of ID. The county Election Board Secretary has now sent directives to all poll workers to accept CCWs.
Go figure.
Gwjack
you don’t need ID to send money to Mexico I bet
I’ve used my CCW card at PBI and BWI. Nobody so much as batted an eye.
More likely, it's new banking regulations by the Dems that require the company to be able to positively identify the customer. I had to send copies of my ID (including a picture) to keep my ability to transfer funds to PayPal from my bank account.
The IRS, in this case only, is just an excuse.
