Zogby: Sandy Helping Obama With Independents
Newsmax ^ | 11/2/12 | John Bachman and Patrick Hobin

Despite President Barack Obama turning the tide with a five-point swing among Independents with his response to Hurricane Sandy, the race is still too close to call, pollster John Zogby tells Newsmax TV.

The latest NewsmaxZogby polling numbers show Obama, who was down three points just a few days ago, has pulled ahead by a couple of points.

Zogby said the president is “turning the tide with Independents.”

“He was down by as many as nine and 10 points nationally among independents and now what we see is that that’s a razor thin,” he said.

“The governor leads by only three points among independents and it’s trending Obama. I wouldn’t call this big momentum but . . . he was down three points three days ago and now he’s up two. That is a five-point swing. At the same time, we do see him improving his numbers with young voters and hitting the 60 percent mark. And, of course, that’s very significant. It doesn’t match what he did last time but it’s enough to put him in contention. And right now I wouldn’t tell you to see your bookie with a thousand-dollar bet on Obama winning but it’s certainly looking better, obviously, more competitive.”

Video at the website. There's no detailed numbers provided at the Newsmax website or any link. Maybe they're at the Zogby site.

Zogster is hedging his bets.

They all want to play it safe!

I doubt this greatly John as this situation is rapidly turning into a travesty. Looks more like your special sauce is being applied.

What did he do besides flap his gums?

His response to Hurricane Sandy just proves that Ubama hates white people.

So people are gonna vote for his loser again because he showed an hour the day after a storm, posed for pics and left? Meanwhile have these independents paid attention to the news and the fact part of NY and NJ are still begging for help four days later??

Whenever I see people being interviewed in NY who are out of food, water, fuel etc. they say the Red Cross isn’t helping. Is this a Twilight Zone episode?

I’ll take Michael Barone over Zogby any day.

The data is a mess because the D+ oversampling is a mess.

When you have a bad model, you get bad data. That’s true for Zogster and for all of them!

Does not make sense, he screwed the nation for 4 years and one good photo op with a RINO is turning the tide in his favor?

Now how is that Sandy propaganda going to fix the economy and foreign policy?

I don’t see a common sense link to Sandy here that would change a common sense voter’s mind about obama.

But then again, where was common sense when he was elected in the first place?

Sandy will be just another albatross around Obama’s neck. Each night the misery and lack of help will be flashed across the TV screen. Just like so many other promises, Obama has failed to deliver. It will be painfully obvious all the way to November 6th.

Katrina: "Where's Bush?"
Katrina: "Where's The governor? Where's the mayor? Where's FEMA?"

As usual, everyone to blame but Oblamer. The MSM is doubly throlled because this helps them to keep Benghazi off the front page.

Have not cared for Newsmax since shortly after Clinton left office and Christopher Ruddy said he had not meant the things he said about the liar and that Clinton was a great guy.

Obama wouldn’t get that much of a bump by just showing but it was Christie’s over the top praise that did it. He’s a Rep and praising Obama like he had a big ol’ school girl crush and for what? His state on the shore is still an effing disaster and now Independents are moving back to that bastard! And it’s not just Zogby, Rasmussen is showing the same trend with Indies this last few days; moving to Obama.

(&&#*) YOU, Chrisie.

Well, then independents are real idiots.

I believe most independs are libs. It is a created group to get more liberal views out while seeming non-partisan. Much like 'moderates'

All BS

Obama made promises of assistance to Sandy victims that he cannot accomplish, and people are getting more pissed off about it. By the time Tuesday gets here, Sandy is going to be a negative for Obama.
