Mitt Romney leads President Barack Obama by a single point in today's Public Policy Polling daily tracking survey, but the numbers inside the poll display a clearly worse picture for the president.
Romney's one-point lead is a slight increase from Saturday, when the candidates were tied. But a deep dive into the numbers paint the picture of a president whose approval is on the decline and is struggling to pick up votes with Independents.
Consider the following numbers:
* Obama's approval-to-disapproval rating sits at just 44-52, which is actually worse than Gallup's tracking on Saturday.
* Obama is losing the favorability battle, which has been a key strength for him throughout the campaign. His favorable-to-unfavorable rating sits underwater at 46-50.
* Romney's favorable rating, on the other hand, is a positive 49-45.
* Romney leads the self-identified Independent vote by an astounding 16 points. Among this crucial group, Obama's approval-to-disapproval is 33-60, and Romney's favorability is 53-37.
These numbers are not a drastic one-day change from Saturday Obama has been losing Independents by double digits for the past five days of PPP tracking

——Sounds good to me...
PPP is liberal. Good news.
Libya is taking Obama. Needs to be the lead story all week!
Regardless of the top line head-to-head, this race is moving strongly in Romney’s direction. It started late September, picked up steam after Debate #1. Slowed a little after Debate#2. But after Debate#3 is cooked in, Romney is moving again in a positive direction.
Biggest signs that this will not be close on Nov 6th :
1) Romney leads Independents by 15 points in RCP average (O won them by 8 in 2008)
2) Obama’s favorabilities are significantly dropping in every major tracking poll (even this lefty PPP poll)
The reason the top line numbers are all over, is the D/R/I splits the pollsters are using. And we know that Gallup increased the minority weighting back in September (which is helping Obama).
Obama will send a rescue to his ‘going down in flames’ aircraft or the ‘sinking ship of state’ like he did in Bengahzi.
Yeah, I hear you. Stand down...
Makes you wonder how much of an influence the freeloader threats of riots, mass beating and killings and scorched earth are having on this Romney surge. It’s almost as though Americans are telling the freeloaders, “Bring it on chump!”.
is that pic from USNF 97?
Appropriate that it’s a Mig.
I don’t study the figures all that closely. I figure it is what it is.
We must never get complacent about what the polls say, though—we must fight until it’s over.
—and praying wouldn’t hurt, either.......
May very well be. Pulled it off the internet. Thought it appropriate that it’s a Mig.
I loved that game back when I had Win XP. Mine had everything from A-10’s to F-22’s. I was even flying the Russian stuff using a cheat code.
You could make your own missions. I remember I designed one mission with several aircraft carriers and probably a hundred aircraft on both sides and a lot of AA fire and missiles from the ground to bomb a “power plant” deep inside the Vietnam map.
I made several copies using different aircraft
Oh look, a poll thread without the concern troll steelfish

Once someone leaks the fact that the drone was armed with hellfire missles, yet none were fired in defense of our ambassador, the election will turn into a rout.
Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy will be the lead story - with the MSM providing plenty of photos and film clips showing a "deeply concerned" Obama "taking charge of the situation", "looking Presidential", looking like he's "in command", etc.
Romney, our real leader, asked us to keep this situation in our minds and hearts. People will be hurting.
