As a classic case of national hysteria slowly peaks, still within 24 hours after the massacre of theater-patrons attending a premier of the latest "Batman" thriller in Aurora, Colorado, it's become increasingly difficult to maintain a rational perspective.
Apparently without any shame whatsoever, an embattled White House still cannot hesitate to push itself out in front of the trickle of information coming out in the wake of these multiple murders.
That as many or more people will die in "random" shootings on the streets of major U.S. cities, Chicago in particular, on an average weekend, this July, still escapes the notice of our entertainment news-readers and other media.
Without any other obvious motive, however, and looking dispassionately for the most reasonable known pattern that fits the facts known at this hour about this massacre, and its lone perpetrator, I think it will eventually be determined that Mr. Holmes suffers from hereditary schizophrenia.
The vast majority of the organic types of that disease are males, often regarded as highly intelligent, and who rarely begin showing the first truly "full-blown" symptoms of such a disease until just prior to their 25th birthday.
Elaborate and fantastic delusions, resembling a nightmarish dream-state, that usually accompany the full, untreated symptoms of this very terrible disease are often so compelling, and build so slowly (and its sufferers often have such credibility or, in many cases, demonstrate such charisma) that loved ones and friends rarely catch on to their true state of mind until they disappear, or it is otherwise "too late."
Though the frightening episodes accompanying this disease very rarely strike such a responsive chord in national news cycles they are almost always devastating, inside a much smaller circle. Usually destroying families and friendships.
So far. at least, Mr. Holmes outrageous demonstration of the apparent symptoms of this disease, or another illness in the same family, still seems quite within a regular pattern, as horrific as that might seem to those who are unfamiliar with schizophrenia.
The reactions of the national news industry, in the immediate short term, and those of his victims, to this intrusion of the symptoms of a classic mental illness, is quite understandable.
Few are unfortunate enough to ever experience becoming drawn into the damaged circle of a schizophrenic's broken thinking, over our lifetimes.
This does not mean, however, that schizophrenia is unknown to law enforcement, competent political leadership, or the health establishment. Far from it.
For a White House, or the mayor of a large city elsewhere, to take such full and shameless political opportunity from a the short-term trauma and shock to the national peace and loss of perspective is nothing short of criminal.
As this president operates within his own diseased pattern of not allowing any tragedy to go to waste, over the course of the next few hours, before the situation elsewhere, likely Syria, distracts his fawning, ignorant fan base in the national media, keep these thoughts in mind.
If only this young man had obamacare his mental illness would have been treated

Any evidence that this guy’s an OWS type? Not every nutcase is political. Some nutcases are just nutcases.
I don't know of many people, if any, who deny the reality of mental illness.
The controversy is with how the justice system treats criminals who plead insanity, mental defect, etc.
Murderers like this one evade justice too often with a finding of "innocent due to insanity", or a similar worded finding.
The finding should be "guilty due to insanity" and the normal sentence for the crime carried out.
Many years ago, a dear friend was murdered by a student in her English as a Second Language class. Thanks to that mental illness defense, the guy is now in a prison mental health unit. But he's laughing his butt off. He bragged to a relative that he has it made...doesn't have to do anything for himself, just watches tv all day, while the taxpayers support him. Someday I hope that another inmate will someday rid us of this worthless POS.

I have to admit that when I saw the first picture of the guy today released by the press that my first thought was, “this guy looks like someone you would have seen at one of the occupy protests.”
Told my wife the same as she showed me the pic on her cell phpne as we were driving to Monticello today.

If he did, you will never here it from the MSM. Blogosphere, talk radio, or Fox would have to dig it up.
Some states it is “guilty but insane”. Of course the punchline to the whole thing is that whether the insane verdict include the word guilty or innocent doesn’t change what happens to the person, they still go in the nuthouse usually for longer than a “standard” 20 to life verdict will put you in jail. Read an article in the 80s from a criminal defender about how defense attorneys were doing their clients a disservice by using the insanity plea because it usually resulted in longer incarceration, but because it included the word “innocent” the attorneys consider it a win.
Schizophrenia is NOT split personality. I know, my son was diagnosed with this very serious brain disorder in 2006. And 99.999% of people with Schizoprehnia are not psychopathic killers - but they are the ones’ who get all the attention.
No evidence that I can see. The shooter's black protective clothing puts people in mind of OWS "black bloc" protests, and somebody says they saw him at an Occupy Denver rally, but so far that's all in the category of speculation and rumor.

I'm not a big fan of mind-control scenarios but I'm also not ruling such a possibility.
Ceaseless hustling and hysteria are definite tactics of the Junta, and the whole incident seems way too convenient in serving that agenda, controlling the news cycle.
All that's within my own practical realm of real power, however, is controlling my own reaction to these events, to see their exploitation of the tragedy and pointing that out, regardless of what the motivation of the actual shooter.
I will admit that the level of organization, also does not fit the pattern of most schizophrenics. Though his being apparently lucid and normal before "going on vacation" from his meds does fit that pattern in many cases, especially among the very intelligent schizophrenics, and especially at early onset among many young adult males. I do know this fit the pattern of at least two such "patients" in my own experience.
One of these could have built a flying saucer, before becoming completely symptomatic, and sold tickets.
If not the Junta, certainly the devil, offered aid and assistance. The latter's agenda was equally well-served by this Joker's actions.

My son was diagnosed with this terrible brain disorder in 2006. I wish he had cancer - then he would get understanding and compassion, but alas the ignorance in the world about mental illness is such that the stigma of these illnesses is almost unbearable. (I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir).
I am the director for my state for a program called "Family to Family", conducted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Family to Family is a 12-week intensive education course, taught by trained family members, to educate families with ill loved ones. Thanks, I'll look at it. It started when she was 14. She's 29 now and living who-knows-where. It did lead me into teaching special education. There was no help nearby that I could get to without a babysitter - and, trust me, no one wanted to watch her and I was exhausted.
Didn't make any proclamation, one way or another, except with regard to the criminal exploitation of this tragedy by the regime and its allies, and to compare the reaction of our national news readers to these murders with their non-reaction to the weekend murder rates in Chicago, for example.
