WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has hauled $1 million in donations in recent days, a spokesman said on Thursday, despite accusations of sexual harassment that have consumed his campaign.

The former pizza executive's fundraising took a jump once his ascent in the polls began about a month ago. He brought in $2 million in the first two weeks of October. Until then, he had raised about $5.2 million after entering the race in May.

$100 of that is mine.

I didn't even consider him until the MSM/Democrat/Rino-complex sabotaged him.

In this case, it works...

If the minions of Satan are acting like they’ve been exposed to a crucifix every time Cain’s name is mentioned...

he must be on the right side.

That puts him at about 12 million raised. So he’s not far behind Perry (about 5 million behind), and at a little more than a third of Romney.

So Romney’s got significant fundraising advantages, but Cain’s made it a three man race in the fundraising, which is good to see.

If Cain has been honest about this and the scandal is nothing more than trumped up garbage, he will be the nominee.

That said, I'm glad all this came out now rather than right before the general election. Even if Cain did something that makes him unelectable, there are still other alternatives to Romney.

I’ll take your pledge and raise you one. I wouldn’t vote for Perry under any circumstance either.

How do you shoot a moving target with a blindfold on? The guy is trying to honor an agreement made with a woman by the NRA. Every single day the story changes. We’ve gone from vague gestures to full blown “waking up in his bed”. And I have no idea which woman we’re talking about (if we are talking about more than one) because at first there was one, then there were two, then there were three but the third only “thought” about pressing charges, now this was “regular behavior”. Except no one else saw anything. Ever. Oh, and today two people saw him getting into a taxi. Except later they really didn’t.

He should just call a presser, address the charges as baseless false and affirm that the campaign moves on.

Just ignore the media and campaign. They are dunces and they will move on to the next GOP hit job soon.

This is one instance where he needs a professional staff. But then again, it is the lean and mean staff that got him to be the leader.

Address a last time and end it. Let the media speculate. Nobody trusts the media that will vote for Cain anyway.

I find it rather interesting that Bill Clinton was known to have more than likely raped at least one woman possibly two, beat the crap out of another in a parking lot, and accosted numerous others, but the press couldn’t have cared less.

Now unspecified rumors by unspecified people have caused Cain no limit of grief. And what’s more, the good folks at FRee Republic are now the best friends of the folks who are instigating this double standard.

Why yes, Cain has a real problem. LOL, perhaps it’s the Conservative movement that has a problem. No specific charges, no named accusers, all a vapor trail at this point, and some of our people are writing Cain off.

LOL, with FReepers like these, who needs D.U., MoveOn.Org, Huffington Post... et al.

None of that matters now.

The only thing that will end this for the Cain campaign is for all the facts to be on the table and all the accusers to have free rein to speak.

The Cain campaign needs this to end.

...and then (a la Mark Block) and taking a cue from Rush Limbaugh, while still at the podium, start blazing away on a Cohiba...and smiling!
