His not being party to the settlements doesn’t matter. His statement over the airwaves to everyone concerned says that he’s willing to have everything out in the open.

I fail to see why he should participate in this hit job on himself. If people want to talk, they'll talk weather "he's willing" or not.

May be Cain is milking this story by getting absolutely free publicity, and when nothing comes out of it, he will come out of it smelling like roses. I hope he is really that Machiavellian!!!

Trump has donated 100 times more to democrats. Turned out to be smart & shrewd donations since his businesses are making hundreds of millions. You should get familiar with real world business practices.

Why end the free publicity early if Cain knows nothing bad can come out of it? Have you noticed the jump in his campaign donations and jump in his name recognition? He might just be playing role of a fox.

Because otherwise he gives the appearance of suppressing their speaking. If, as you say, they are going to speak out anyway, then how can it hurt to be on board saying he thinks they should speak out.

Bush was a RINO and it’s his and Hastert’s fault we got saddled with Obama and Pelosi.

Star, I recall you asking me where I saw FReepers bash Bush.I’ll tell you what makes me sickened is the hypocrisy of some that think everyone to the slight left of Sarah Palin is a RINO. Yet Palin has yet to disavow saying she wanted to be Romney’s VP in 2012.I also remember Newt and Rudy bashing and now all of a sudden... they are okay.I have never liked Romney so I get calling him RINO...but I think a new name is needed other than RINO. The republican party is the DNC lite. SO RINO is a ridiculous notion.Possibly only DeMint is the only honest decent republican.

I didn’t say a damn thing about Sarah Palin or anyone else. I made a comment on one particular big government “Republican”. George W. Bush.

Tell me, if a democrat President signed pork-laden spending bills, coddled illegal aliens, bailed out automakers, fooled around in Iraq for years ignoring the fact that a troop surge was needed to win, expanded government powers, created the TSA ect ect ect. would you support that President?

Bush was not “slightly to the left” of an ideal conservative President, he was miles away.

Take away a handful of things like 2 conservative justices, Mexico city policy, sunsetted small tax cut, and a noble but poorly managed and unsuccessful attempt to deal with social security and you have a record that’s hard to distinguish from a democrat President.

He and our “leaders” in Congress who deserve just as much of the blame p*ssed away an historic opportunity for the Republican party to govern. Leftist polices fail.

RE :”I didn’t say a damn thing about Sarah Palin or anyone else. I made a comment on one particular big government “Republican”. George W. Bush.

Comparing Bush and Palin would be like comparing apples and oranges.

Bush was POTUS for 8 years and made a number of bad decisions the specifics can be argued about, but what is fact is that he left office with the country in really bad shape in the hands of Obama and Pelosi. One of the worst things was the 'See you at the signing' episode after Pelosi took over the House in 2007. This is why we dont trust Perry.

Palin is completely different. She made believe she was running for POTUS, you both know the details. It was clear to me eaxctly what she was doing early this year or earlier. She did a few good things too the past two years, but the MAKE believe POTUS run makes her look phony. But she was not POTUS nor will she ever run for it.

The two are completely different situations.

They are two completely different situations.SarahPac asking for donations to SHOW SUPPORT to push Palin to run while they knew darn well she wasn’t was worse than Bush letting Pelosi bully him and Bush sitting by and being alinskyized.Palin’s long tease was not what this country needed.I still say Palin would be an excellent energy secretary but was called every name in the book for saying this even as Palin was saying she does not need a ‘title.’ Cain has the ability to not let the MSM get to him.Palin didn’t, quite sadly. They destroyed Bush by saying he continued reading to kids on 9/11 and Obama the gaffe machine idiot gets a pass.

Bush made some serious mistakes/wrong moves/whatever. They were more serious than him just being bullied. A number of things that he did that defenders claim was giving into bullying were in fact his own initiatives.

I just assume not get into a long Bush recall on a Cain thread. We can meet on a Bush thread sometime and rehash it.

Bush was not perfect.I am sick of the hypocrisy of anyone but Palin (there for awhile.)(Remember all the Newt Pelosi sofa pix?)And many have been attacked for saying anything good about Newt or Rudy but they are all of a sudden ok now.
Bush will go down in history a lot better than people think.
He was far from perfect but he was alinskyized and took it that ticks me off. They made fun of his golfing and continuation of reading to school kids on 9/11 and all of Obama’s HUGE gaffes get a pass is all I guess I am saying.

Back to Cain: I hope he does not give his presser during Holder’s hearing.

Hey, I know a few freepers that still swear that Palin is a RINO, but with Perry running and Palin not she has dropped off their radar screen, with Perry being the juicy target with the Bush 'compassionate conservative' bullseye painted on him after that one debate..
