Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said he

so Reid swam with hookers??
male hookers I assume.
Filibuster it!
If there was a chance of that happening, wouldn't it already have?
(no snark intended, just seems obvious)

If this happens Tea Party fingerprints will be missing from the awful results of a $17 trillion national debt “waypoint” (formerly called a ceiling) with tax increases and no meaningful cuts or restraints on future deficit spending
bypassing the will of the people (still) has consequences
Go ahead, Harry, make our day
I have thought the exact same thing numerous times. We have gone so far down this road. I’ve always asked “how do we turn back?” Nobody has ever had an answer.

All spending bills must originate in the house. This is smoke being blown by Reid and he knows it. Boner should have stuck with the CCB bill and when Reid pulled this card retorted ‘we sent you the bill’. McConnell should have taken the torch from there with DeMint and tried to get the votes, and let the Dems kill it.
With both wanting to craft much weaker bills out of the chute, they’ve boxed themselves into a position. This is all on their lap.
I believe for the vote to pass in the Senate it will require sixty votes. The Republicans in the Senate can block the bill if they have the cojones.
What took u so long Dingy. Yes, let’s see YOUR phantom bill and phantom spending cuts. Put your RATS on record.
No. Only bills that raise taxes or appropriate money have to originate in the House. These bills purport to cut existing appropriations.
You don't have to believe me - just look at the bill number for Boehner's plan - it is Senate Bill 627. They took a bill that had already been passed by the Senate and amended it to contain the language of the Boehner plan. So the Boehner bill does not "originate" in the House.
Of course, if Reid wanted to pass a bill that contained new spending or raise taxes, he could do something similar - "gut and amend" a bill that originated in the House.
I don’t believe it’s ever happened that the Senate and the house have been split in this fashion.
Like it or not Reid's bill would likely pass the house with full support from the Dems and establishment Republicans.
Any Republican who votes for Reid's bill needs to be primaried.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see Reid come out with a bill containing 30,000 pages.
Reid will come out with another 2,500 page monstrosity. “Time is short,” so no time to post it, no time to read it, no time to debate it. We need to pass it first in order to find out what’s in it....
When do WE THE PEOPLE, get to see it?
And don’t say after it’s signed. Unless you want the heat in D.C. turned up by a lot more than the temperature...
No because this is the 1st time the US Senate lead by dopy Harry has actually DONE something on this issue.
We are going to make Reid’s life a living Hell through the weekend. We have 47 GOP Senators waiting on the House for additional leverage.
THAT is why it is critical to get the Boehner bill passed.
I know this is inside legislative baseball to a lot of well-meaning conservatives who think CCB is the only strategy. It is not. Pay attention to what Krauthammer, Holz-Eaton, Coulter, Hewitt, Sowell and others are saying.
We all share the same goal; this is a fight over tactics. Boehner and Cantor know what they are doing.
Yep. The plan was to have the Boehner plan killed (either by Tea Party or by threat of DOA in Senate) and force the House to deal with the Senate bill due to lack of time and crisis creation. Classic pincer strategy.
The House should simply pass a bill authorizing what should be paid until a budget is passed, then adjourn.
