An excerpt from the Duelfer report was shown while Maddow stated the remarks above, the excerpt shown as a breakout quote. The excerpt read as follows - "The former Regime had no formal written strategy or plan for the revival of WMD after sanctions. Neither was there an identifiable group of WMD policy makers or planners separate from Saddam." Left out by Maddow was the rest of the statement - "Instead, his lieutenants understood WMD revival was his goal from their long association with Saddam and his infrequent, but firm, verbal comments and directions to them."

Maddow fails to acknowledge that whatever Saddam was pursuing back then, he isn’t doing it now.

I would love to know the percentage of people in the United States believes that WMDs were in Iraq. They do polls for all this other nonsense, why not for this question. Could it be that the majority of people actually believed that WMDs were in Iraq even though nobody could find any? I bet that is why they never poll the Americans about this. The numbers would not work for the lefties.

Anyone with any sense knows that everything Saddam wanted to retain was taken into Syria before the invasion. Madcow is mad.
These people are stupid.
First, Bill Clinton and the entire Senate, that’s all 100 senators, signed the 1998 Iraq Liberation Act. The state goal was to overthrow Saddam Insane and his entire regime and replace it with a democratic government.
That is a fact:
The Act found that between 1980 and 1998 Iraq had:
1. committed various and significant violations of International Law,
2. had failed to comply with the obligations to which it had agreed following the Gulf War and
3. further had ignored Resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

Surely they knew Saddam had WMD. Bill Clinton did after all launch missiles on Iraq in an attempt to destroy some of them.

I recall an article (excerpt form a book?) where it had quotes from Iraqi leaders in the war. They were not afraid of the Americans, even as we massed along the border.
They “knew” that as soon as we crossed over, the chemical warheads, etc. that the other divisions had would be put to good use. I think it was even Iraqi generals that believed this. (Of course Saddam always told them it was always the “other Divison” that had the WMD).
The generals were baffled and confused as to why the WMD were not used. Probably that confusion helped us win in such short order - they were counting on the WMD too much.
You did a lot of work putting up that post with all those links, but MSNBC says that Bush lied and it was all his fault. So I guess none of that stuff actually happened cause Rachel and Keith say so.

Agents of Saddam were everywhere around the world, mostly Germany and France, trying to buy all the necessities for nukes/WMDs. They would admit to their European counterparts that they had an “unlimited” budget, and there were cutbacks in the 6 figures for both the agents (traveling always under diplomatic cover) and the Europeans they did business with.
This is absolute fact.
Whether or not Saddam had WMDs, he either thought he had them or was actively trying to acquire them.

We won because we are the United States of America.
We did end runs and Blitzed our way to Saddam’s home.
By skipping past many Iraqi troops and going on to more important objectives, we cut them off from supplies and communication.
They weren’t going to win nothing.
We had air superiority, We own the night, We have superior comms, best training, best ability to range an enemy better weapons and snapier uniforms.
