In 1950 Christians were about 10% of the Iraq population which at that time totaled about 8 million - So there were about 800,000 Christians in Iraq.

Now they number about 3% of 30 million, or 900,000.

A population growth rate of just 2% compounded per year from 1950 to 2000 would have made the Christian population about 2,173,000 in 2000. Are you saying 1,373,000 Christians have fled Iraq in the last 10 years? If so, where did they go?

The fact of the matter is Christians have been leaving Iraq at a rate fast enough to leave their numbers unchanged since 1950.

I have a delusional friend who fervently swears Saddam never had ANY wmds. I asked him about the chemical attacks on the Kurds and Saddam’s other uses against his enemies. He was silent about that. But he refused to admit that Saddam ever had them. And there was a sarin gas projectile launched at our troops in 2004 and even reported on by ABC News at the time. In the face of all the evidence, Bush-haters will not admit the obvious.

I’ve made those same statements to Bush-haters a number of times. Nothing fazes them. They still chant “there were no wmds, there were no wmds, there were no wmds” in the face of all the evidence and the fact there their political heroes stated there were wmds.

I was going to post that they may have slowed us down with chemical weapons - but I wonder. In those early stages of the war our guys were suited up, and the “sniffer” vehicles out in front, etc. They were already fighting as if they were in a chemical environment.

Plus - the snappy uniforms! You know that one “Hitler” video where they are in the room with the map and everybody spoofs it? I wish I knew how to do it - I think a funny one would be Hitler ranting about the Nazi uniforms. Everyone in that video has a different uniform on!
