These Rocky Mountain right wingers, Rachel Maddow complained last night, there they go again, trying to thwart voting rights. Seems that a conservative group in Colorado mailed out a flier in response to a Democrat state lawmaker filing a bill that would make it easier to vote. (Video clip after page break)Maddow airbrushes away Obama pal Bill Ayers from her history of '60s era bombingsThe flier included a photo of people lined up to vote -- and two people of color had been photoshopped out of the line. The company hired by the group to prepare the flier said something...

Tonight (4/5/2013) clever MSNBC Maddow was playing clips of NRA Wayne Wayne LaPierre responding to the question: ‘What is wrong with these different proposed gun laws like background checks and magazine sizes?’ (clip of Megan Kelly question ) with ‘Because criminals won’t follow them only law abiding citizens will’(LaPierre response) .Now I could easily come up with arguments pros/cons of using that as a general guideline for rejecting laws. But then Maddow throws in her punch line : ”No one else but the NRA uses that argument against laws to be passed, that we shouldn’t pass laws that won’t be...

Rachel Maddow talks about a group of counter protesters that showed up at a "moms for gun reform" event in Indiana. Her disdain for the pro gun rights protesters is obvious as she makes comments like:"You can tell who the counter protesters were because they were the ones showing off their weapons, circling around the moms' group." and"You know what? It *is* intimidating to be in the presence of a loaded AR-15 assault rifle, especially when it is not held by, say, an instructor on a range or, say, a cop or somebody else who is there to ensure your safety...

Bill Maher made a comment Friday that his benefactor and hero Barack Obama should sit up and take notice of. Speaking about the taxes the rich pay particularly in California, the host of HBO’s Real Time said, “Liberals – you could actually lose me” (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary): The panel discussion began with a conversation about the various budget proposals currently on the table in Washington. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow predictably slammed Congressman Paul Ryan’s (R-Wisc.) plan. “The Ryan budget is a document that says the big problems in America right now are that rich people do not...

Almost every day, the website Reddit has someone either on television, the radio, or garnered their fame from the internet answer questions. These are called "AMAs," or "Ask Me Anything," and are considered interviews and the people asking questions are actual users of the site. Today, Rachel Maddow did not want to answer everything. In fact, she hardly answered any questions during her time on Reddit. Towards the end of it, Maddow refused to answer the most popular questions, answered others ridiculously, and ended up being openly mocked by users who accusingly stated that "she is in the back pocket...

In the wake of the discovery that the Rachel Maddow show has been promoted by multiple fake twitter accounts, a liberal blogger has found MSNBC host Ed Schultz guilty of the same "sleazy but legal" behavior. A portion of what he found: "Also, the blog Help The 99ers has examples of Twitter spam involving the Ed Show... and these accounts are different. In these cases there's a connection to an actual company that offers web promotion services. Here are phrases promoting the show that seem to involve spammers: Hahahahahaha, what threatening e-mails. #edshow #p2 #p21 Oh boy, Michael .E.Dyson is...

A poster on Twitter, upon seeing what he thought were very similar posts referencing MSNBC host Rachel Maddow's show, did some searching and found out that Maddow has been using phony twitter accounts to boost her "mentions" on the popular website. As can be seen by screenshots collected by a tweeter named @LeftyBollocks, Maddow has massive amount of accounts posting the exact same claim that "Confession: I yell at my TV while watching Rachel #Maddow talk about filibuster reform in the same way most people do during football." With so many supposedly unique accounts mentioning her name, the term #Maddow...

Did you hear about the tea party that Big Guy held yesterday afternoon? Oddly enough, only Kool-Aid drinkers were invited for tea: Arianna Huffington, Eddie Schultz, Al Sharpton, Rachael Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell. (snip)Chris Matthews was invited butt he and Howard Fineman were apparently off slaying vampires, or hunting Nazis, or something. This is all very confusing because I still remember when “the Bush tax-cuts” were characterized by Big Guy and Big Media as simply “tax cuts for the rich.” ...In other words, if the Bush cuts actually were just “tax cuts for the rich,” then their expiration couldn’t hurt...

A Fox news anchor was back on the air Tuesday night following a 2-day suspension for calling MSNBC host Rachel Maddow an "angry young man" on Facebook. Tricia Macke, an anchor for Ohio's Fox 19, took to her personal Facebook page last month to rant against the cable news personality, writing "Rachel Maddow is such an angry young man" on Oct. 12.

DAVE LETTERMAN, HOST: Here's what upset me last night … this playing fast and loose with facts. And President Obama cites the op-ed piece that Romney wrote about Detroit, 'Let them go bankrupt, let them go bankrupt.' And last night he brings it up again, 'Oh no, Governor, you said let them go bankrupt, blah blah blah, let them go bankrupt, blah.' And Mitt said, 'No, no, check the thing, check the thing, check the thing.' Now, I don't care whether you're Republican or Democrat, you want your president to be telling the truth, you want the contender to be...

I guess this was inevitable. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) joined the chorus of Republicans criticizing President Obama's response to the violence in Libya on Monday, going so far as to suggest that the administration's handling of the situation is worse than Watergate -- the scandal that brought down President Richard Nixon: "I think this is an issue -- Benghazi-gate is the right term for this. This is very, very serious, probably more serious than Watergate." Now, Blackburn struggled to explain what it is about the attack she considers Watergate-like, or even what she's accusing the administration of, exactly. But for...

The Labor Department paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal stimulus funds to a public relations firm to run more than 100 commercials touting the Obama administration’s “green training” job efforts on two popular MSNBC cable shows, records show. The commercials ran on MSNBC on shows hosted by Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann in 2009, but the contract didn’t report any jobs created, according to records recently reviewed by The Washington Times. Spending reports under the federal Recovery Act show $495,000 paid to McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations LLC, which the Labor Department hired to raise awareness...

Floyd Corkins, a volunteer for the last six months at the D.C. Center for the LGBT Community, marched into the Family Research Center with a gun and serious ammunition, denounced FRC's policy positions and shot a security guard in the arm before being subdued. Another hate crime, but this time against, perhaps, the pre-eminent pro-family organization in America. CBS gave the story 20 seconds. NBC spent 17 seconds. Imagine a volunteer for the Family Research Council marching into some gay group's headquarters with a gun, and after shouting his opposition to the homosexual agenda, opened fire and wounded a guard...

or someone seemingly so bright, Rachel Maddow sure has a short memory. There she was on June 19, talking about a proposed debate between GOP Sen. And he said if his conditions weren't met, he wouldn't do it. His conditions are, first, that the widow...

During a heated discussion on Fast & Furious on HBO's "Real Time" where guest panelist Rachel Maddow, of MSNBC, accused Republicans of going after the Obama administration and the Holder Justice Department because they believe it is a conspiracy to install tougher restrictions on gun ownership, and host Bill Maher tried to delegitimize the investigation as political in nature, fellow panelist Nick Gillespie, of Reason, accused them of being the partisans. Gillespie asked Maddow and Maher, who claim not to be partisan themselves, to name one elected Republican they agree with. The duo could not, instead they said it is...

One of the finest examples of how liberal media members really don't know what they're talking about occurred on HBO's Real Time Friday when Reason's Nick Gillespie gave a much-needed education to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and host Bill Maher on the issue of Fast and Furious. In the end, Maddow and Maher embarrassed themselves in a fashion that should have both of their respective networks seriously concerned about their qualifications to disseminate information to the public (video follows with transcript and commentary): Reason's Nick Gillespie Schools Rachel Maddow and Bill Maher on Fast and Furious RACHEL MADDOW, MSNBC: I think...

Eugene Robinson is an scribe for the Washington Post who specializes in embarrassing himself with ad hominem attacks on right wing personalities. Lately he's made some scathing and offensive remarks about Rick Santorum. Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson set off alarm bells last month when he denigrated Rick Santorum as "very weird" for the manner in which Santorum and his wife mourned the loss of their newborn son Gabriel, who died within hours of his birth in 1996. The Santorums brought their deceased baby home and grieved with their other children in a private vigil before a funeral was...

During a CPAC panel discussion on the Obama administration’s controversial contraception mandate, The Heritage Foundation’s Genevieve Wood played a clip of Rachel Maddow saying that “the Republican Party was waging war on contraception.” Turning to columnist Cal Thomas, Wood asked: “Cal, let’s talk about this religious–this is serious, we laugh about it, but this is serious in terms of, if they get away with this, what would happen in a second term? If that outrage doesn’t turn to action in November, what are we looking at here?” To which he pointedly responded: “I’m really glad, Genevieve, that you played the...

As presidential candidates go, Rick Santorum is quite an excitable guy. More so than most, the former senator is prone to delve into all kinds of bizarre, almost hysterical, ideas that he's only too eager to share with the public. Just over the past couple of days, Santorum argued that evidence from climate scientists are an elaborate "hoax"; he said President Obama may force Roman Catholic churches to hire women priests; and he argued gas prices "caused the housing bubble to burst." ....here's what Santorum had to say during a town-hall meeting in Texas last night: "They are taking faith...

It’s always interesting to hear how the other side views its political proponents. When they have whined in the past that pro-abortion politicians aren’t vocal enough, I have always held the opposite view. But not lately. While pro-life politicians could always do better, I have recently thought that particularly the Republican presidential candidates have come out quite strongly on the life issue. And to my knowledge, on January 23 John Boehner became the first Speaker of the House to ever address the March for Life. We’re seeing trickle-down pro-life. And as everyone knows, we also made great gains in the...

Liberal MSNBC commentator Rachel Maddow has had difficulties getting any mainstream Republican presidential primary candidate to come on her show. Shocking. Give Maddow some credit though for her tenacity. In desperate search for a few words with former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, currently placing sixth in national GOP nomination polls, Maddow traveled all the way to New Hampsire to attempt to “ambush” interview Huntsman Friday. Unfortunately for Maddow, Huntsman’s handlers were unimpressed by her Bud Fox-like perseverance, rejecting her request for a few words with the candidate who was already mobbed with media attention. Checkout the MSNBC video of Maddow’s...

Sacred underwear, baptizing holocaust victims, gods of their own planets. When some of America’s most celebrated pundits and public intellectuals talk about Mormons, these are the images that are summoned. Ironically in this “Mormon Moment”—signaled by a hit Broadway musical, polygamous housewives on TLC, and of course two Mormon presidential candidates—Mormons, long considered quintessential “outsiders” to mainstream American culture, today find themselves at the center of the American zeitgeist. Yet it is the Mormons’ supposed theological weirdness that is the centripetal attraction. As Joanna Brooks has noted in these pages, the New York Times recently featured Harold Bloom’s musings on...

On Aug 16, 2011 decided to roll in a critical comment about Republicans trying to keep the economy bad. She said that Bernake was keeping interest rates low to help the economy because Republicans were refusing to cooperate and that his announcement about it boosted the stock market(assumed a good thing). But last week on her show October 19, 2011 just two months later she was on a ‘Wall Street is evil’ theme consistent with the OWS protests and she said that the ‘banking ‘ policies for keeping interest rates low was bad because it stopped people from saving for...

Never trust a source as cited by Rachel Maddow. It's not the sources themselves that are deceitful, at least much of the time. It's what she does with the information they provide that is. On her MSNBC show Friday night, for example, Maddow was riding one of her favorite hobby horses, alleging that new voter ID laws enacted or proposed in 40 states are little more than GOP-led efforts to suppress voter turnout among core Democrat constituencies. (Snip) The legislation requires voters to present one of five acceptable forms of photo ID -- a driver's license, military ID, passport, concealed

This segment from Wednesday of last week is just a little reminder of how this tin-foiled left-wing hack defended the indefensible Weiner. The way both of these clowns spun a web of lies and conspiracy theories is shameless. Remember: Being on the Left means never having to say you're sorry--unless you've been caught red-handed in front of a national audience and are threatened with more graphic sexual pictures of yourself to be released if you don't confess. We won't hold our breathe for a Maddow apology.

How desperate is Anthony Weiner to deflect the potential scandal? So much so that he's willing to make jokes at the expense of his own manhood. On MSNBC this evening, Weiner told Rachel Maddow "I wish" the infamous picture in question was of himself. View video here.

Fresh off Rachel Maddow's ludicrous claim that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was "not all that well known" until he was killed by the US military in 2006 and allegedly elevated in death beyond what he was in life, Time magazine published a special issue titled "The End of bin Laden." The cover of the magazine, which can be seen here, shows an illustration of bin Laden crossed out with a prominent red "X" -- as in, buh bye. Turns out this is only the fourth time in Time's history that the magazine has gone with the "X" cover. Prior to bin...

Wisconsin Gov.-elect Scott Walker was the recipient of the unwelcome news that he will be inheriting a projected budget deficit as high as $3.3 billion over the next two years. Last week, the Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) published a report announcing there would be a $1.5 billion gap between state revenue and state spending through June 30, 2013. It appears that the news is much grimmer than that, however. It has taken hold with conviction: the idea that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker ginned up a phony budget crisis to justify his bold bid to strip state employees of most bargaining rights and cut their benefits. A volley of e-mails, blog posts and inquiries to reporters followed a Madison Capital Times editorial on Feb. 16, 2011, that said no state budget deficit exists for 2010-’11 -- or if it does, it’s the fault of Walker and the Republicans in the Legislature. Liberal MSNBC talk show host Rachel Maddow joined in Feb. 17, accusing Walker of manipulating the situation for political...

At least she didn't blame Sarah Palin. On her low-rated MSNBC show Monday night, Rachel Maddow condemned "Stephenson Billings at ChristWire.org" for writing this: The escalating crisis in Egypt could become a defining moment for Sarah Palin. Governor Palin needs to speak out publicly and forcibly for an American-led invasion to protect our interests in North Africa. Too bad Stephenson Billings is an imaginary person and ChristWire.org is a satirical site. Maybe it's because I'm Canadian, but I can't imagine voluntarily tuning in to watch a smug, snide woman who looks like a cross between k.d. lang, and Linda Griffiths...

This is pretty lamestream. Last night on her show Rachel Maddow called attention to a story on the website Christwire that was advocating for Sarah Palin to lead an American invasion into Egypt. Now, depending what websites or comments sections you read that story may or may not sound off to you. However! It certainly sounds nutty enough that a quick Google was probably in order before airing it on national televsion. One that would have revealed pretty quickly that Christwire is a satirical site (and quite funny!). Alas, apparently the story sounded solid to the Maddow team because they...

Palinoia strikes deep. Into DU it will freep. . . . Yes, every day of the month the moonbats suffer from PMS (Palin Madness Syndrome). It causes the DUmmies to believe just about anything--anything bad--about Sarah Palin. Thus they will fall for even an obvious piece of satire written about Mama Grizzly, thinking it is true. That's what happened the other day in DUmmieland. It started when the media guy the DUmmies most look up to, Rachel Mancow, read a portion of an article about Mooselini preparing to invade Egypt--a satirical piece--and Rachel thought it was true! What is Democrat and Liberal sycophant Rachel Maddow’s recent concern with the integrity of the Republican Party? It seems that since Rep. Michelle Bachmann’s CNN appearance, which Bachmann gave an outstanding Tea Parties response to the President’s State of the Union Address (which eclipsed the president) Maddow and others have been looking for the slightest peculiarities in attempts to discredit the core message of Rep. Bachmann. Congresswoman Bachmann pointed out via visual aids what the “official Republican” response failed to show. President Barry Hussein Soetoro’s administration has don’t far worse than the previous administration and has in fact exacerbated America’s...

Google is a brilliant invention. And it’s popular. In fact, it’s even become a verb. You now “Google” something. But, apparently, not if you’re Rachel Maddow, who slammed conservatives for a fake story calling for a Palin-led American invasion into Egypt on the website Christwire.org. But Christwire.org isn’t a real news site — it’s a satirical one littered with fake stories.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow called out CNN for airing the Tea Party response to the State of the Union address by Michele Bachman last night: “A national news network decided that they would give Michele Bachmann a job that her own party never did.” Maddow asked Fmr. RNC Communications Dir. Doug Heye: “Isn’t it a little bit weird though to have two responses run on a national news network as if they were equivalent?” This segment sent new CNN hire Piers Morgan to the Twittersphere to pronounce his disapproval: Ms Maddow doesn’t think it’s ‘news’ when 2 different factions of Rep...

Rachel Maddow had a very tough evening Friday. Before telling a 100 percent falsehood about Reaganomics on HBO's "Real Time," the MSNBC commentator said the Strategic Defense Initiative would never work because you can't shoot a missile out of the sky with another missile (Snip) You know what? Here's the country, here's the kind of thing you put over like a cake to protect the cake from flies. Missiles don't work that way. That’s the whole idea of SDI. We'll protect ourselves by shooting missiles at other missiles. It’s never worked in a test. We spent billions on it.

Nancy Pelosi To Maddow: Without Passing Healthcare “We May Have Lost More Seats”by Matt Schneider | 1:20 pm, January 19th, 2011 Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi appeared on MSNBC last night with Rachel Maddow and vigorously defended the healthcare reform bill that Republicans are intent on repealing. Also when asked, Pelosi agreed that any Republicans in Congress advocating repeal should in fact reject their own government provided health insurance. When Maddow pressed Pelosi about her defensive strategy against Republicans, Pelosi insisted that making the case to Americans that the reform bill has many benefits and Republicans are trying...

Both Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow offered their best to outgoing legendary anchor Larry King on Dec. 16, his final broadcast night. But how does the outgoing CNN anchor feel about them? On CNN’s Sunday broadcast of “Reliable Sources,” host Howard Kurtz asked King about his competitors, which he was third to in the ratings at the tail-end of his career. King admitted they were good at what they did, but said he didn’t particularly care for it. “They got better ratings,” King said. “However, I don’t regret anything and I’m happy with what I did.

Keith Olbermann laments that two women's rape allegations may slow the very important work of Julian Assange. Rachel Maddow’s Anger At U.S. Senate: ‘Game Over’ For Support From Obama Base?by Colby Hall | 10:22 am, December 17th, 2010 Last night the U.S. Senate voted on a bill that will extend the current Tax Cuts first put into place by President Bush after Senator Harry Reid appeared to capitulate to the threat of a Republican filibuster. This appeared to frustrate, if not anger MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow last night, and not only because it messed up the rundown of her show. It understandably irked the self-described progressive because it was just another example of, as she put it, “this...

**SNIP** At the very top, the single most effective thing that they studied that Washington can do to reduce unemployment—the very top? Increasing aid to the unemployed. Why is that the most effective thing Washington can do? Because people who are unemployed are broke. So, if the government gives them money, they will turn around and spend it. They‘ve got to. They will spend that money instead of saving it, because they cannot afford to save it. And spending that money increases consumer demand, which is good for companies that supply that demand, which means those companies get more busy...
