Wow, they don’t even try to hide their hunger for power and authority anymore.
I’ve been purchasing many items on the secondary market the past two years. Not just because they’re cheaper, but because they’re better made than most of the merchandise coming out of China.
These regulations will only spur an increase in secondary markets.

Just like health care... they now know they can just tell us we have to buy whatever they think we are supposed to have. There will be fines (taxes?) for not buying the appropriate appliances. They will put Whirlpool out of business for daring to challenge them. It will be easier and easier for them with each success.

Yes let us MAKE you save $5 a year on electricty by forcing you to buy a $1200 appliance the next time you need one. What they really want to force you to do is go buy that appliance NOW so they can call it “stimulus.”

Just replaced our washer and dryer after 24 years of service. I fully expect the new set to last as long. By the way, the old set still works, just getting along in years and we figured we had better pick something up before the economy went totally to pot.
Now we’ll have to wash our dishes and clothes three times, like we have to flush the toilet three times.
I bet there will be money in the black market thermostat business.

Comrade is right. Zer0 and his socialist thugs are doing everything they can to shut down capitalism in our country. Saving a few bucks a month in electricity means nothing if they force the price of the product so high few people can afford it. Grrrrr!
