What can I say? I'm a middle-aged mom with two teenaged daughters and an electronics engineer husband. He hangs out in Silicon Valley, otherwise known as Nerd Nirvana, while I hold down the fort at home about an hour east of there.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis in journalism and a Juris doctorate. I was a full-time in-house legal counsel for a large private university for eight years. I quit full-time work to raise my children and we moved to California in 1992.
Since moving to California, I have worked part-time doing estate planning and probate work while also doing a regular column in the local newspaper on social trends as exhibited by recent legal decisions from federal and state courts. Now that my youngest is graduating from high school June 2005, I will be increasing my professional workload.
My husband and I are very active in our Christian church and I have served as leader of the women's organization, gospel teacher and Bible teacher. We are very conservative in our politics, have home-schooled our children, and are pro-life, pro-military and anti-gay marriage. I believe it is best to let truth be spoken freely (within the constraints of a civil society) and let conscientious people make their own decisions.
Nuff said. Oh, and I'm lousy at computer stuff and, according to my geeky daughter, a real Luddite.
