Energy Department Says It Has ‘Mandate’ to Force ‘Market Transformation’ for OutHouse Appliances CNSNews ^ | September 17, 2010 | Penny Starr

Assistant Secretary of Energy Cathy Zoink said Thursday that the U.S. Department of Energy has a “mandate” to issue regulations to determine what outhouse appliances are available to Americans in the future.

“We’re going to update [the outhouse standards] more frequently” said Zoink. “We have the power to do that in the statute and in the outhouses.”

“As the secretary [Chu] says, ‘We’re going to make people save money for themselves,’” Zoi said. “They haven’t dumped the dollar bills on the ground yet but we`re going to make sure that they take a lot of dumps.”

"We feel that beyond just energy, outhouse science is at the heart of what will keep America prosperous in the coming years,” Chu said.

I heard a caller to a radio show say that when he needs a new toilet, he goes to Canada to buy a toilet that flushes. He won’t buy the ones that need to be flushed two or three times.

We Americans should just be so thankful that we now have a government that always knows what is best for us...and is not shy about reminding us about it every chance they get.

I don’t think Cathy has ever had a “Man Date” in her life.

All I will say is they can TRY. I am done playing the game with these power hungry idiots anymore. I dare them to tell me I have to throw away an appliance and buy a more expensive one.

Used to be that when a household decided they wanted a different fridge or washer/dryer, they just went and selected one. Now they are/will be forced to get a new one even if they ae happy with what they have and don’t need to be spending money on a newer one.

Keep up the good work, honey. Just make it impossible for us to have or do virtually anything. Just keep piling it on.

I was talking to someone this week (a “surprise” conservative), and we agreed that apparently, the country needs to get bitch-slapped every 30 years or so after electing Democrats. So, although this feels “bad” right now, over the long term, it’s good. Maybe the next Reagan will come from nowhere after this evil era.

“That’s an existing statute that this department of energy is going to make work really hard,” Zoi said. “We’ve already issued appliance standards that are going to save the American public somewhere between $250 billion and $300 billion over the next 20 years just by getting the crummy stuff off the market.”

You effers have yet to issue a single standard that saves any of us a dime, Ms. Zoi. It's going to be no different this time around.

I haven't been able to find a decent steam iron for years now and I'm convinced that it's because of all the "green technology" that goes into their manufacture.

See, when I want a hot iron, I want it so hot that Satan would recoil from the heat. I want the walls to melt, I want the stinking wrinkles to run in horror at the iron's approach. But no, (and I actually spent over $100 for an iron in my pursuit) I imagine that expecting an iron to actually get hot is a felonious assault against Gaia and so the weapon must be mandated out of existence.

These madmen won't be happy until we're all down at the creek pounding out our hemp clothing with rocks.

Can you tell I was ironing today?
