What would my own state have to do with anything?

I just want to show you how your state is also being over run with illegal aliens..

So, what state are you in?

Why so afraid to reveal that?

“Oregon, like most all the other states, is crawling with illegals...It’s no secret. You should get out more.”

Of course I know that. You obviously didn’t get the joke. It was meant to be ironic, as if california which now is a big destination for illegals would become a place to get out of if it was part of mexico.

I should get out more? I’ve been to 49 states, 9 Canadian provinces, 21 Mexican states, and 31 other countries. In the last 3 weeks alone I’ve been to 9 US states in 3 time zones. I “get out” more than enough. Lol.

I’m touched by your naive optimism, but I have to wonder—do you actually interact with other human beings, let alone the two groups you are attempting to assimilate on paper?

And before you ask, yes, I’ve got plenty of personal experience to back up my skepticism.

Of course I interact with other humans. I am perhaps naively optimistic at times, but other times I spot potential or opportunities that other people may miss.

I know a lot of people of different backgrounds and a number of people in mixed marriages. I’m white, but have had good bosses/mentors who were black and worked in an office for years where whites and blacks had some common ground as far as getting the work done.

I realize that I’ve had a better experience than many, but it was nothing that couldn’t happen in many places in America, daily.

I’ve had exposure to black racism against whites, too, and the other way around, as well as black prejudice against darker blacks and white prejudice against “white trash”, and asian prejudice against whites and latino prejudice against blacks. I live in the real world. I just choose to pull together positive threads where I see them. A negative distortion that overlooks those threads is inaccurate, just as much as a pollyanna view is.

I would say, though, that it helps if the people involved are of the middle or upper-middle class, or are “aspiring” to move up to that. For people who are pursuing ‘The American Dream’ and raising families, they have some important things in common as Americans.

I wouldn’t overplay it, and I think you would like to blow my small point out of proportion, but I’m just saying that, if they had to pick allies, it would be more logical if blacks chose whites.

We are now considered White non-Hispanic!

Logic barely enters into things like this.

I’m glad you’ve had good experience with folks of all types in a corporate business setting. Go to your nearest ghetto and see just how much those folks have with the average suburbanite or urban yuppie. Then see how well your theory stands up.

I’d wager just the opposite of what you posit, actually. Hispanics were never slaves to the white man in America and will not be bashing that over anyone’s head anytime a break doesn’t fall their way. Most seem to be very religious. Most seem to be very hardworking. Most seem to value family.

Two notable conveniences in this study:

1) the study period: 2000 to 2008.

A limited picture of demographics: A study from 1900 to 2008 would show cause and effect.

2) A crude vital statistics rates method was used to develop the July series race / ethnic estimates.

You betcha. Documentation provided by the source and not evaluated by statisticians for veracity.

A thumbnail of the demographics during the 20th century would show relative stability of the California Hispanic cultural component, at about 15%, until WWII. A slight rise after the implementation of the Bracero Program during/after WWII, a huge jump after Reagan sponsored and authorized an amnesty program in 1986 to benefit California agribusiness and Betsy bar the door when Shrub threw open the gates in February 2000.

Well, it definitely appears that there are more blacks in the military.... in my experience they tend to be in supply, or administrative fields. Hispanics are more likely to be in the infantry than blacks.

I am surprised it’s that close in registration. But I believe the Asian vote has gone heavily for the Dems since Clinton. As Asian immigration continues, this pro-Democratic trend is almost guaranteed to continue.

High levels of immigration (even if it is all legal) reinforces and strengthens all of the factors that lead immigrant communities to vote Democratic in the first place. As long as immigration levels are high, the GOP has no chance with Hispanics and Asians.

Registration numbers are interesting, but actual voting is what counts.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but have Asians not voted Democratic since Clinton? Do they not typically vote Democratic in the statewide races in California?

Due to unending extended family chain migration, the levels of Asian immigration are likely to increase, and if so then the GOP will continue to lose the Asian vote, probably by larger and larger margins.
