The Darwin/Trotsky connection
Creation Magazine ^ | Barry Woolley

Posted on 06/17/2009 8:19:30 AM PDT by GodGunsGuts

Leon Trotsky (1879–1940) was the organizer, propagandist, and military leader of the communist seizure of power in Russia following the revolution of 1917. He was communist dictator Lenin's heir apparent, until Stalin usurped this position. Intolerant, tactless and impatient, Trotsky had an unbounded faith in Marxism, which was reinforced by his uncritical acceptance of Darwinism...

Thank you so very much for your encouragements, dear brother in Christ!

As to where I stand, I perceive that God the Father has revealed Himself in four ways: (1) through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, (2) through the indwelling Holy Spirit, (3) through Scripture and (4) through Creation both spiritual and physical.

I perceive no inconsistencies between these revelations, including between Scripture and God’s revelation in the physical world.

Moreover, I perceive the “unreasonable effectiveness of math” (Wigner) as God’s copyright notice on the cosmos.

After all, Jesus’ Name is Word which is translated from the Greek word Logos which is also the root of the word “logic.”

God’s Name is I AM!

You missed my point. What does it matter if Trotsky accepted Darwinism?

And who’s Darwood?

I pray you will find encouragement in There is Only One Great Commandment. It is written more like a devotional.

If you are more interested in betty boop's and my views with reference to Scripture and science, you might want to check out Don't let Science get you down, Timothy.

betty boop is also working on the next book related to many of the same questions. The working title is "God and the Observer Problem."

You ever take a look at those two guys? Right away you can see their problem...lack of a good barber!

But I'm sure someone will swear there is no connection between Trottersky listening to a C.D. and the formation of his blood red philosophy.

‘assassination of a character’!

Hitleer was a Darwiniac, vegetarian, environmentalist, who viewed the Jews as non-native species.

LOL! "Darwin is connected to Hitler!" "Darwin is connected to Lenin!" "Darwin is connected to Trotsky!"

You're like the lawyer in the joke about the client who was being sued for damaging a rental car: "First, we'll prove that you never touched this car. Second, we'll prove that this car was already damaged when you drove it off the lot. Third, we'll prove that this car was in perfect condition when you returned it."

When dealing with propaganda from Nazi Germany, it’s useful to recognize the significance of the timeline. Your quote is from 1933, a point at which the Nazis had yet to thoroughly consolidate power, and so they were publicly pronouncing support for the religious institutions that they were attempting to subvert, and in reality despised, as later quotes amply demonstrate. Also, atheism as it was, being identified with communism, a rival socialist front if you will, was vilified as was anything associated with it, such as “evolution” in lieu of a divine origin. This again was agitprop, as the very early fascination with Sanger, euthanasia, improvement of the “species,” etcetera also demonstrate.

So, if you’re atheist or evolutionist, you’ll cherrypick the early Nazi propaganda to support your contentions. If you’re Christian and/or creationist, you’ll choose the candid words of these people themselves, to support their hatred of Christianity and their support of evolutionary concepts.

Yep. The earlier period when they were just a gaggle of out-of-power extremists left them free to say what they really thought. The later people when they actually had to run the country made it necessary to weasel and waffle a bit.

“Guilt by association is a typical ploy used for character assassination.”

Have you noticed how the creation rationalizers on this site claim to be conservative yet employ the tools of the left? Guilt by association is but one tactic that they use. The left, for example, vilifies Rush Limbaugh, then associates all conservatives with that “evil”. The creation rationalizing “Christians” on this site do the same, instead they choose Darwin as their tool.

Make no mistake about it—the creation rationalizers here are hard left in their methods. There is nothing conservative about them.

“Whose character are you worried about?”

Not mine.

Those of good character work to protect it.

Those of bad character work around it.

So, you and I agree, that Hitler was “weaseling and waffling” when falsely claiming the mantle of Christianity, while speaking before the Reichstag in 1933 when he came into power, then.
