CHICAGO The largest study of its kind finds that older Americans who eat large amounts of red meat and processed meats face a greater risk of death from heart disease and cancer. The federal study of more than half a million men and women bolsters prior evidence of the health risks of diets laden with red meat like hamburger and processed meats like hot dogs, bacon and cold cuts.
Calling the increased risk modest, lead author Rashmi Sinha of the National Cancer Institute said the findings support the advice of several health groups to limit red and processed meat intake to decrease cancer risk.
The findings appear in Monday's Archives of Internal Medicine.

You can have my steak when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.
By that logic....the caveman would have died so early that we all shouldn’t even be here... bullshit.
Especially true if you’re a cow.
The National Pork Board and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association questioned the findings.
Well, which one is it?

JERRY: But you’re going over there for dinner tonight, right?
ELAINE: Um uh.
JERRY: What is she making?
ELAINE: I don’t know. But I’m sure it had, . . . PARENTS!
Call her up. She won’t mind if you come.

And I’ve got a study to find that people who drive Priuses and pound their own skulls with hammers tend to get brain injuries.
Why does this study lump processed meat and red meat together? This should be two separate studies. And after 30 years of bullsh!t indoctrination about red meat, how are we to know that this study isn’t simply finding a correlation between people who eat lots of red meat and people who ignore other “studies” such as not to smoke, or not to pound your own skull with hammers?
“Rashmi Sinha”. Might not he be Hindu and, therefore, a vegetarian?
If this is a new study then how come my doctor has been trying to get me to cut back on red meat to a couple of meals a week for 10 years? Seems to me like someone already knew.
Who the hell can afford red meat?
And in a related study:

I’d rather die of cancer at 80 after eating 16 oz. ribeyes, than eat tofu and seaweed until I’m 100 (more than likely, I’ll probably have Alzheimers so I won’t remember anything past age 80 anyway).
You are eating too much red meat, elder comrade 124433279688. Your ration card will no longer include red meat, and your healthcare quota will be increased to cover the extra expense to the state’s wonderful healthcare system.
Now thank us profusely and get the hell out.
WACKADOOS one and all.
Uhhh... the average age of a caveman was 18.
