Barack Obama decided to spend his last two years in the Illinois Senate going after peoples guns. Its interesting how he was willing to do this, but thought it was okie dokie for his best bud Bill Ayers to have bombs and explosives.
Anyways, here is a link to Mr. Obama's activity during the 92nd General Assembly of the Illinois State Legislature (2001-2002):

You can see from the link that Barack Obama sponsored (wrote and introduced) a whopping 46 bills over the two year period. Of these, 44 were axed - leaving only 2. (I think that some people in the Illinois legislature must have been getting tired of him). He even had a bill - SB1322 - get rejected that was absolutely ground-breaking! Its sole purpose was to change one word from "assure" to "ensure".
His first bill to pass - SB0062 was again written by a "band of liberal brothers" to make sure that evil corporations could not do "mass" layoffs without adhering to government red tape. You can read the text here.
As you can see by the Bill Status: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/legisnet92/status/920SB0062.html everything went through relatively unscathed and was signed into law.
The last bill that Mr. Obama had passed into Illinois law has a bit of poetic justice to it. SB1782 - which you can read here deals with producing and distributing a brochure dealing with post-partum depression. I can't help but think how it has been approximately five months since Sarah Palin delivered her beautiful baby boy, Trig. I'm think that after the a**-whooping that Barack Obama took from Sarah that he must be suffering a bit of post-partum depression. I do wish that I had one of his brochures to send to him.

The Bill Status shows that Obama failed in his last bill. It was gutted - right after the enacting clause - and replaced with text that made more sense to the fine people of Illinois. (He's lucky that Sarah Palin didn't gut it - she would have gutted it, stuffed it, and had it hanging above her couch in the living room!)
The bill, minus Mr. Obama's language was eventually sent to the governor and signed into law.
Barack Obama failed miserably on his only Senate resolution - here - seeking to make April "Minority Health Awareness Month".
AND - for his GRAND FINALE - Barack Obama tried to get a constitutional amendment added through the use of a Senate Joint Resolution - here.
This joint resolution - believe it or not - was to remove the offices of Comptroller AND Treasurer from the State of Illinois. After all - it's easier to pay off your bribes when there's nobody managing the people's money!
That's it folks! Six years of NOTHING from Barack Obama in the Illinois State Senate. And he wants to be President of the United States of America???

I recently registered two children in school here in Illinois, the first time for me in many years. Among the forms I had to sign was a permission slip that my kids be allowed to “scrape their own trays” after lunch.
According to the explanation, the Illinois legislature passed the law requiring parental consent to do so. I’d like to know how Barry voted on this pressing issue and whether children need parental consent to obtain an abortion.
If he wins the White House - BOHICA - gun owners will be in for another round of persecutions, as bureaucrats at every level feel empowered blatantly to violate our civil rights and make a serious attempt at grabbing all guns. It’ll be as if Heller never happened.
