The Obama campaign has come out saying that Barack Obama was unaware of former Weather Underground member William Ayer's past when the two met more than a decade ago (when Obama kicked off his Illinois political carrer in Ayer's living room). When Rev. Wright went on a tirade before the National Press Club, Barack Obama came out and said "This is not the man I knew." When Tony Rezko was being exposed as a crook, Barack Obama came out and said "This is not the Tony Rezko I knew." Is America dumb enough to believe that Barack Obama was clueless...

Has anyone been paying attention to the bogus polls that are intentionally adding in blacks to the tally of surveved voters to apparently increase Obama's percentage in said polls? 1.) Here's one such poll: From The ABC News/Washington Post poll: "This ABC News/Washington Post poll was conducted by telephone Sept. 27-29, 2008, among a randon sample of 1,271 adults, including an oversample of African Americans weighted to their correct share of the national population, for a total of 165 black respondents." There is no need to increase the number of blacks into this poll or any poll, because over time...

If you are looking for hope, change or maverick-ness in the final four weeks of the election, you are probably going to come up empty everywhere you look. “Forget the idea of ending politics as usual in Washington, forget the idea of reaching across the isle, and forget the idea of bipartisanship and a new era of politics. This is going to get ugly, very ugly, and very quickly” said Stony Brook University political scientist Matt Lebo. Lebo says that because the McCain campaign finds itself trailing nationally you will see them dig up every negative character issue they can...

McCain's at an Albequerque event happening as I type; his prepared remarks have him taking his most direct jabs at Obama yet: This is the agenda I have set before my fellow citizens. And the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent. Even at this late hour in the campaign, there are essential things we don't know about Senator Obama or the record that he brings to this campaign. We have all heard what he has said, but it is less clear what he has done or what he will do. What Senator Obama...

(Golden Oldie HT Matt Drudge) William Ayers, author of A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court (Beacon Press, 1997), says "We should call a child a child. A 13-year-old who picks up a gun isn't suddenly an adult. We have to ask other questions: How did he get the gun? Where did it come from?" Ayers, who spent a year observing the Cook County Temporary Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago, is one of four panelists who will speak on juvenile justice at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the C-Shop. The panel, which marks the 100th anniversary...

The National Rifle Assn. is about to turn up the volume on its campaign against Barack Obama, airing more ads taking him to task over his gun record. Starting as early as Sunday, the NRA will be airing a new batch of spots in more battleground states, such as Ohio, Virginia and Florida. As colleague Noam Levey reported back in June, some say the NRA is losing sway. But Democrats, who generally favor restrictions on guns, still shy away from the issue, particularly in must-win swing states. The NRA already is up with spots in Colorado, New Mexico and Pennsylvania....

U.S. Senator John McCain today delivered the following remarks as prepared for delivery at the McCain-Palin 2008 rally in Albuquerque, New Mexico: In less than a month, the American people will make a choice on where they want this country to go, and who they trust to lead us in a time of war and economic crisis. The time for debating and electioneering is drawing to a close. Soon it will be the time for choosing. Today we have seen a reminder of the importance of that choice. The action Congress took last week to address our financial crisis was...

In the 1920s, Vladimir Lenin charged a select group of communist espionage officers with a long range covert influence project. Their goal: To undermine the culture, society, and economy of the USA. To weaken America in preparation for a socialist revolution. The communists targeted the three transmission belts of American culture: Academia, the Media, and Hollywood. Recent research reveals the unbelievable extent of their success. Today we see the results in Obama’s campaign talking points, the Media’s assistance, and Hollywood and Academia’s slavish toeing of the party line . ...KGB chiefs were regularly slaughtered, along with millions of other Soviet...

The centerpiece of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama’s health care platform is the creation of a national health plan and a new agency to help individuals purchase private health plans. “We now face an opportunity – and an obligation – to turn the page on the failed politics of yesterday’s health care debates,” Obama said in a speech posted on his Web site. “My plan begins by covering every American.” Obama’s health care platform also includes keen oversight of the health insurance industry, prescription drug reforms, cost-saving strategies, increased medical research and disease prevention. Thomas Gustafson, PhD, senior policy...

(CNN) – John McCain’s campaign is dismissing statements by senior aides to Barack Obama that the Illinois senator had been unaware of former Weather Underground member William Ayers’ past when the two men met more than a decade ago. “Does Barack Obama truly expect the American people to believe that he had no idea about his friend’s past as the infamous founder of the domestic terror group ‘The Weather Underground’ or is he just lying?” McCain-Palin spokesman Tucker Bounds said in a statement. “If Obama really was unaware of Ayers' radical past, learning the truth doesn't seem to have had...

As everyone concentrates on Bill Ayers, a bigger story may be Obama's link to Ayers' wife, Bernardine Dohrn. Barack Obama was not eight, but a 24-year-old community organizer in Chicago at the time of the Weathermen’s last attacks, and 29 when many of the last remnants of the Underground in the offshoot May 19th Communist Organization were sentenced to prison in 1990. (Former Weatherman Elizabeth Ann Duke is still a fugitive and wanted by the FBI.) Barack Obama’s ties to the Weathermen aren’t ties that were 40 years removed from a child’s experiences, but the conscious decision of a young...

Just when you thought Keith Olbermann couldn’t go any lower, he plunges to new depths that seem almost unimaginable for someone pawning himself off as a journalist. On Friday, the "Countdown" host actually told his viewers that National Review editor Rich Lowry’s published opinion of Sarah Palin’s performance during Thursday’s debate "read like soft core porn." MSNBC’s leading on-air personality disgustingly concluded: "I don`t really care if you sat there last night during the debate and masturbated. But was it really necessary to tell America about it?"

Looking down the barrel of an adNext Previous In a state known for liberal politics, perhaps the most iconic statement is the 252-foot billboard by Lansdowne Street overlooking the Mass. Pike. For the past 13 years, activist John Rosenthal has decorated the edifice with a series of direct, bold advertisements for gun control. The newest billboard (left), which was unveiled today, features a satirical gun show advertisement. Scroll through this gallery to see other ads that have emblazoned the billboard through the years.

Unfortunately Gov. Sarah Palin wasn’t exaggerating when she said on Saturday that Presidential hopeful Barack Obama was friendly “with terrorists” referring to William Ayers, the unrepentant terrorist and former Weather Underground Operative. The question to ask today, however, is whether or not Ayer’s radical ideologies play a role in Obama’s revolutionary 2007 education legislation.

Talk about a smoking gun ... As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama must demonstrate executive experience, but he remains strangely silent about his eight years (1994-2002) as a director of the Joyce Foundation, a billion dollar tax-exempt organization. He has one obvious reason: during his time as director, Joyce Foundation spent millions creating and supporting anti-gun organizations. There is another, less known, reason. During Obama’s tenure, the Joyce Foundation board planned and implemented a program targeting the Supreme Court. The work began five years into Obama’s directorship, when the Foundation had experience in turning its millions into anti-gun “grassroots” organizations,...

Due to the recent economic crisis and a McCain campaign knocked off kilter, Sen. Barack Obama is becoming more and more the presidential candidate the experts predict to win the election. Such a victory would be unprecedented but not due to his race. It will be unprecedented in that never before has America embraced a candidate with such little experience and ill-defined views. Those views which he does profess represent a naïve break from reality, a poorly thought-out exercise in moral equivalence, and a repetition of policies and philosophies with long debunked credibility. There's a reason why Sen. Obama loses...

The NRA is going up with its second wave of advertising against Obama, focused in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Minnesota and Michigan. One television ad, which will also air in Spanish, features a former Texas police officer tying gun issues to illegal immigration, saying: “Families should be able to defend themselves against rapists, drug dealers and other criminals illegally crossing our border.” It’s unclear how widely this spot will air, but it’s supposed to go up on TV and radio today. The NRA claims that it will spend "8 figures" on broadcast advertising this cycle.

Face it; if another candidate as inexperienced as Obama suggested that he was considering a run for the U.S. presidency, he would be laughed off the stage. Why is Obama the exception? Why are not Americans rolling in hilarious laughter at his presumption? It is not because he is a Democrat or radical liberal or part of the corrupt Chicago political machine. It is because he is black; however, color (or race or religion) is not a qualification or disqualification for any office. The thought that such an “empty suit” could even become a U.S. Senator is itself appalling and...

Election 2008 Item A Few Good Reasons to Vote November the 4th by John Ross (10/4/08) The Obama-Biden team promises everybody everything that will get them elected. On the other hand, “the mavericks,” the McCain-Palin team, promises to “Drill-Baby-Drill and throw the Fanny-May and Freddie-Mac crooks in jail.” Applying the KISS Principle (Keep It Simple Stupid), most Americans understand that we must become energy independent, otherwise the $700-Billion dollars a year we send to our enemies for gasoline will continue to be used against all of us. With Halloween just around the corner and Election Day just four days...

In case you haven't noticed, Senator, you are losing the argument to be the next president of the United States. And you are doing it all on your own. Recent trends and polls show that Americans are shedding their discomfort with Barack Obama, and women and independents are breaking in his direction. For your part, you are doing nothing to persuade people to do otherwise. Time to shed the over-handling and carefulness and go at it.

During the April 16 debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, moderator George Stephanopoulos brought up “a gentleman named William Ayers,” who “was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol, and other buildings. He’s never apologized for that.” Stephanopoulos then asked Obama to explain his relationship with Ayers. Obama’s answer: “The notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense, George.” Obama was indeed only eight in...

Barack Obama called Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings on Tuesday with a promise: As president, he would revisit bankruptcy laws to give judges more leeway to prevent foreclosures. Obama didn't need to lay out a quid pro quo because the message was clear. Cummings, who voted against the financial-markets bailout on Monday, told Obama he was “open” to changing his vote but wasn’t there yet. "I have to look beyond [the bailout] to a rainbow called Obama," he said. "When you bring in the Obama factor, that's very very important." As the final high stakes vote on the bailout bill approaches...

A little-known relationship in Sen. Barack Obama’s past — one that had been buzzing in mostly conservative circles for months — took a very public turn Wednesday night during a Democratic debate in Philadelphia. It relates to Obama’s relationship with William C. Ayers, a onetime member of the Weather Underground, a leftist fringe of the 1960s antiwar movement. Known as the Weathermen, the group was responsible for bombings of the New York City police headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971 and of the Pentagon in 1972. During the debate, moderator George Stephanopoulos asked Obama about his relationship...

[edit] Opposition to increased oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac In 2003 Watt vehemently opposed efforts by the Bush Administration and Congressional Republicans to increase regulatory oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac[5]. "I don't see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing", Mr. Watt said.[6]

Data points from the Windy City The U.S. Treasury is happy to commit $700 billion of taxpayer money to “fixing” the current credit crisis without basing the sum on any particular “data point.” (”We just wanted to choose a really large number,” one Treasury spokesman cheerily observed.) Since there is an absence of data points in such exalted places, I thought readers might appreciate a few as they think about the upcoming presidential election. A friend who lives in Chicago sent me some arresting reflections on the Windy City, stomping ground of Barack Obama, former Community Organizer in Chicago, former...

How dangerous is Barak Obama? Is he too dangerous to be put in a place where he could literally get us all killed? ...why would so many people want to put him in a position where he could do us harm, The conclusion of anyone with common sense who has seen the films of innocent children singing their Obama songs or who has watched the quasi-military chanting and saluting of the Obama Youth in military garb must conclude that there is something very, very wrong with these people. I remember when I first saw the YouTube Children singing their Obama...

ACORN Should Be Obama's Undoing by Michael J. US presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama have released their technology policies, differing on whether "Net neutrality" rules should be imposed on telecommunications companies and on the breadth of their aspirations for the American public. Mr Obama said Net neutrality rules – which would prevent telcos giving priority to certain types of Internet traffic over others – were needed to ensure freedom of expression on the Internet and to prevent "a two-tier Internet in which websites with the best relationships with network providers can get the fastest access to consumers". The debate over Net neutrality has international implications, pitting...

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the FBI is looking into whether or not former Obama pal Tony Rezko -- convicted in June of attempted extortion, mail and wire fraud, and aiding and abetting bribery -- paid for all or part of $90,000 worth work on the Northwest Side Chicago home of Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Rezko apparently liked helping out his politician pals on their real estate transactions. As you may recall, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Rezko's wife, Rita, bought adjacent properties in a controversial and complicated series of real estate transactions, one of which Obama later called "boneheaded" because...

Getting class-warriors to admit they're wrong about anything is always a struggle. Witness Bill O'Reilly's attempt to get House Financial Services Committee chairman Barney Frank (D-Massachusetts) to admit he was on the wrong side of housing policy for decades. Frank, a member of the kooky socialist Congressional Progressive Caucus, wouldn't give an inch in a recent interview even though his fingerprints (and those of some Republicans) are all over the current crisis on Wall Street. (See transcript from October 2 "The O'Reilly Factor" show here; video here) But let's look at the facts. Stanley Liebowitz, an economist at the University...

WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain and his Republican allies are readying a newly aggressive assault on Sen. Barack Obama's character, believing that to win in November they must shift the conversation back to questions about the Democrat's judgment, honesty and personal associations. With just a month to go until Election Day, McCain's team has decided that its emphasis on the senator's biography as a war hero, experienced lawmaker and straight-talking maverick is insufficient to close a growing gap with Obama.

Sen. Joseph Biden was illogical on the matter of gay rights. “Look, in an Obama-Biden administration, there will be absolutely no distinction from a constitutional standpoint or a legal standpoint between a same-sex and a heterosexual couple,” Biden said in answer to a question about whether he supported equal benefits for same-sex couples. He went on to invoke the Constitution three more times. “The fact of the matter is that under the Constitution.... same-sex couples should be able to have visitation rights in the hospitals, joint ownership of property, life insurance policies, et cetera. That's only fair.” And, “It's what...

More relevant are the baroque delegate rules and strong-arm tactics that helped him to victory. A recent Associated Press story glibly proclaimed that “deep-seated racial misgivings could cost Barack Obama the White House.” The story relied on an AP-Yahoo poll that posed questions regarding race to white Democrats. One is left to wonder why questions regarding race were not posed to black Democrats ... It’s quite troubling, really, that mainstream media outlets are focusing upon “racial misgivings” factors, while all but ignoring the major divides among voting constituencies that occurred during the nominating contest between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama....

Here come another of those "Guilt by Associations" that Senator Barack Obama will try to weasel himself out of. As you may know, Philip Berg is suing Senator Obama in Civil Court. Berg wants Obama to Produce his real birth certificate to prove that he meets the citizenship requirements to be President. Rather than just product the birth certificate (is he trying to hide something?) Obama's legal team filed a motion to dismiss. One of the Lawyers filing the motion was Joe Sandler (sandler@sandlerreiff.com) of the Washington law firm Sandler, Reiff, and Young (see the document below). If Mr. Sandler's...

When Bill O'Reilly interviewed Barack Obama, Obama said that he wanted to return the top tax rate to the CLINTON years, which was 39.5%. Now, Joe Biden and Obama say that Obama wants to return the top tax rate to the REAGAN yeras, which was 28%. He says one thing to one group, another thing to another group. He initially said that he wanted to give a tax cut to 95% of Americans, and increase federal income taxes for those making over $250,000 a year. But when this was exposed as being a lie - since over 40% of Americans...
