  • Obama: Gun owners do not need to stock up

As gun sales shoot up around the country, President-elect Barack Obama said Sunday that gun-owning Americans do not need to rush out and stock up before he is sworn in next month. ... But National Rifle Association spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said it's not Obama's words — but his legislative track record — that has gun-buyers flocking to the stores. ... "Anyone who thinks they need to rush out and buy a firearm clearly has not been paying attention to how quickly we make progress on this issue. We don't think these are first-time buyers. We think they are people who...

I am unsure if this has relevance to the birth certificate issue, but since it has been stated that if Obama became President and later was found to be ineligible, any law that he signed would also be invalidated. Remember back during the election that is became common knowledge that Senator Obama voted "PRESENT" the majority of times on Senate Votes. Could this because he knew he was not a US Citizen, and didnt want Senate votes to be invalidated? Perhaps that is why he voted "PRESENT" so many times. Please comment

I have never posted a blogger thread, so forgive me if I am doing this wrong. Ok, I was doing some investigation on a person who claimed that if they had to go through so much investigation to be given security clearance, there is no way Obama would have made it and Bush wouldn't have allowed him to get the briefings. I explained that by being elected President alone, that he gained security clearance of the highest level, which frightens me on a whole different level. But in my searchings, found some documents. Ok, Barack admitted to using Cocaine and...

Interestingly, Dan Morain of the L.A. Times has just discovered that Barack Obama has a pretty thin resume prior to being elevated to the presidency. Between 1993 and '96, Obama, the much-ballyhooed "Constitutional scholar," had only an unusually low 3,723 billable hours of legal work accrued over a four-year stint with his law firm employer Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Gallard. Further, he seems to have worked on but few cases and made little impact commensurate with his reputation. The question I have, of course, is why is the L.A. Times only NOW interested that Obama was "involved in relatively few...

If you want to know Barack Obama's real views on abortion, you should meet registered nurse Jill Stanek. Mrs. Stanek worked at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois from 1993 to 2001. When she worked in the hospital's Labor and Delivery Department she saw that babies who survived abortion attempts were left to die alone in supply rooms. They could linger for as long as eight hours, without medical care, without even the dignity of a warm blanket or a soft touch. Their tiny bodies were then dumped in the trash. Mr. Obama's spiritual mentor served on the board of...

COLUMBUS, Ohio – House Republican leader John Boehner has used a vulgar expression to refer to Democrat Barack Obama and his voting record in the Illinois legislature. While campaigning for Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Wednesday, Boehner told a small crowd at a bar in the college town of Oxford that failing to vote "yes" or "no" on an issue meant a lawmaker was a "chickens---." The Ohio congressman said the last thing the country needs is to have a "chicken" in the White House. Boehner spokesman Jessica Towhey confirmed the remarks on Saturday but said the congressman wasn't...

While reading the lengthy time line for Obama, I found an almost offhanded statement that Obama has let his license to practice law lapse. Why would he do that? Isn't that really important to renew? Why would he not need it in the future? Is it because there were complaints and he just let it lapse to make them go away? Maybe the Tony Resko problem?

Barack Obama does not say much about his years in New York City. The time he spent as an undergraduate at Columbia College and then working in Manhattan in the early 1980s surfaces only fleetingly in his memoir. In the book, he casts himself as a solitary wanderer in the metropolis, the outsider searching for a way to “make myself of some use.” He tells of underheated sublets, a night spent in an alley, a dead neighbor on the landing. From their fire escape, he and an unnamed roommate watch “white people from the better neighborhoods” bring their dogs to...

One of the oldest phenomena of American elections — criticism of one's opponent — has in recent times been stigmatized by much of the media as "negative advertising." Is this because the criticism has gotten more vicious or more personal? You might think so, if you were totally ignorant of history, as so many graduates of even our elite universities are. Although Grover Cleveland was elected president twice, he had to overcome a major scandal that he had fathered a child out of wedlock, which was considered more of a disgrace then than today. Even giants such as Lincoln and...

Absent the ability to read minds and hearts, I can't really tell you if Barack Obama is uniquely dishonest.  What is for certain, though, is that his campaign is uniquely deceitful.  These two things are not synonymous. Politicians are famous for suppressing facts and manufacturing fantasies to hide their faults, and, while Obama certainly practices this sleight-of-hand, I can't say he is more inured to it that your average prevaricating pol.  But what is doubtless is that he has more faults to hide. In each of the first two presidential debates, Barack Obama claimed that "Republican deregulation" is responsible for the financial crisis. Despite the ‘bunch of conservative businessmen and civic leaders’ on the Annenberg Challenge, which ran the school reform project, the Annenberg Challenge was Ayers’s baby. It actually diverted funds that were naively assumed to be going to bona fide education projects and channelled them instead into one radical group after another. That is the key point about the relationship with Ayers – that Obama’s own actions as a member of the Annenberg board were in concert with Ayers’ subversive world-view. Indeed, even more explosive new evidence is emerging about Obama’s links with the New Party, a radical left organization, established...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- With debate moderators not asking any questions of the candidates on abortion, pro-life advocates have been hoping John McCain and Sarah Palin would criticize Barack Obama's pro-abortion record. In a national radio interview on Thursday, Palin did just that and called Obama's record "atrocious." During an interview with nationally syndicated radio talk show host Laura Ingraham, Palin described Obama's view that abortions should be legal for any reason throughout pregnancy “absolutely atrocious." Palin heavily criticized Obama's votes in the Illinois legislature against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, a bill that would require hospital staff to...

The liberal news media has subjected Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin to intense scrutiny concerning her overall pro-life view on abortion, among other issues. On the other hand, they have been all but silent on Barack Obama’s intensely liberal record on abortion issue, particularly his support of partial-birth abortion and his opposition to legislation that would have protected infant abortion survivors from dying of neglect. In MRC’s October 9 Media Reality Check, "Media Silence on Abortion Aids Radical Obama," Rich Noyes and I outlined how the news media have been out to lunch on examining Barack Obama’s radical pro-abortion...

Fact check needed. That red-haired Obama Suck-up is on Fox proclaiming that in 2006 Obama introduced legistation in the US Senate to rein-in and better control sub-prime loans backed by Fannie May and Freddie Mack. Can anyone corroberate this or is this just another Obama lie? (I also note that she looks rather distressed at the moment -- a result of today's wailing of Obama by McCain and Palin?)

When George Stephanopoulos so rudely queried Sen. Barack Obama about his long-standing connections to unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers during a recent Democratic debate, many conservative newshounds cheered. At long last, Americans had been introduced to a name that only a handful of right-leaning news sources had previously explored. Obama challenged the question's relevancy, carefully avoided details, and pivoted to another topic of discussion. The damage was done, though, and his campaign was forced to issue a "fact" sheet to debunk any nasty implications the "distraction" of a question may have raised. Team Obama informed readers that a) Obama himself...

Documents released Tuesday by the University of Illinois at Chicago shed some light on Barack Obama's relationship with William Ayers, a founding member of the 1960s and 1970s radical group the Weather Underground. Obama's association with Ayers, who now teaches at the university, has become an issue in the Illinois senator's presidential campaign. The Weather Underground took credit for several nonfatal bombings on targets that included the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol, and critics accuse Obama of rubbing elbows with an unabashed 1960s radical. Obama has said that, although he knew Ayers as a professor involved in community outreach efforts...
