A 14-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with murder after she allegedly killed her newborn baby in a school bathroom.
Baytown, Texas, police said the eighth-grade student submerged the 7 pound infant in a Cedar Bayou Junior School toilet and jammed toilet paper down his throat so he wouldn't cry, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Police have been investigating the incident since the baby was found April 2.
The baby also suffered blunt trauma to his head and neck, according to a Harris County autopsy.
Gerald Yoakum, the girl's attorney, claims she wasn't aware that the baby was in the toilet because she was bleeding profusely. The teenager who claims not to have known she was pregnant wore loose clothing to hide her growing belly.
"Please remember that this is a 14-year-old child who has experienced a tragic event," he wrote in a statement.

Is this the socialization that homeschoolers are missing? ( Just wondering?)
Also...Forget any First Amenmdnent Right to free association and assembly. This girl will likely continue in school, and the government will **force**other children to her to "assemble" with her. Someone's kid will be sitting next to her.
Government schools, the First Amendment, and freed assembly are utterly incompatible. They are an abomination!

Interesting that we never hear of home-schooled kids getting pregnant.

Don’t worry. A USC college student who murdered two of her newborn innocent babies will be getting off with 30 days time served today.

Tragic.
What kind of relationship would a girl have to have with her parent/s to do such a thing?

Yeah, I know ... forget about the baby and his “tragic event”. Forget natural shock and disgust.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
What kind of relationship will she have with the other kids in the compulsory attendance “school”?
The government **will** force someone's kid to sit next to her.
Forget any First Amendment Right to free assembly! When it comes to government schools, the First Amendment doesn't exist~

AS an advocate, seriously of homeschooling ... I have to say, home schoolers aren't immune to this.
Recall the home schooler whose boyfriend shot and killed his girlfriends family. The daughter and boyfriend lived but the daughters parents were dead. The parents didn't want the daughter to see the boy. The daughter was involved so it's not as though home schoolers don't have issues ... I believe this was n Pennsylvania. Homeschooling is not the answer that makes crime unthinkable.

Hey - we don’t want her to be “punished with a baby”, now - do we?

A tragedy all around. We don't know the home situation that would make her that scared to turn to her parental unit (vagueness and singular intentional). Note that the nurse did not notice the pregnancy so this child had to deal with 9 months of "what am I going to do?" if in fact she knew she was pregnant. Seems likely that no one taught her respect for life and instilled a moral code such that she'd recoil from doing what she did. No church, no God, no parenting. All that comes before one blames the school.
