What’s your point? All of us (men and women) must be encouraged to wear the hijab/burkha as long as we are aware that “That didn’t turn [us] into Moslems.”
BTW, show me ONE picture/photo of non-Muslim Western women who wore a hijab/burkha - and I prefer to see the head-to-toe variety.
A hijab/burkha is NOT a scarf and any such comparison is bizarre.
Odds are good that your grandmothers wore scarves.
Having given it a thought, my grandmother did wear a scarf, or some kind of hat outside the house, and thought it quite daring to speak a good word about a Catholic neighbor from back in the twenties.

They say they feel more ‘feminine’ dressing like Muslim women. The evidence is clear that the Islamic community worldwide represses and ostracizes women. Their ‘education’ on what it would be like to live life as a Muslim woman is, to put it mildly, lacking.
Think of it like a fetish, the hair is hidden making it taboo.
I know a few Orthodox Jewish women who wear wigs because of religious codes and it makes them feel much more feminine and sexy.
Or as a former professon of mine told us in class one day, he was out studying a tribe for 6 months, all the women went topless, but wore long skirts down to the ground. When he got back to the US, he was indifferent to breasts, but he would lose his train of thought at seeing an ankle. To make matters worse (or better), when he came back mini-skirts were in fashion.

A bridal veil is the same as a burkha/hijab now? Do women in the West wear bridal veils that cover all features except their eyes too? Can you end me the picture I asked for insteadof just any picture?
Is this woman forced to wear it the entire day? Is she killed by her brothers/father if she removes it (”honor” killings)? Does she suffer from the +20 degree temperatures (compared to the surrounding temperature; variable) that build up within a full-body black burkha?
The moral equivalence between a woman who chooses to wear a scarf (for appearance and voluntarily) and a woman who is forced, at the pain of death, to wear a hijab is disgusting. The former indicates that women are free to wear what they choose; the latter indicates oppression and a denial of basic freedoms.
If you want to continue making these specious moral equivalence arguments, be my guest.

Honor killings occur in Sicily and none of those guys are Moslems. Besides, that was a cultural value around long before Islam anyway.
My wife always plans for the bride to "change clothes" quickly after the ceremony so that she's not worn out for the rest of the day. If you hadn't noticed almost all bridal gowns are neck to floor, hot, stuffy, body de-enhancing, etc. (except where the bride tries to pretend she has "enormous American breasts".)
BTW, we attended a betrothment for a friend's daughter (they're Shia). She had several girls she went to highschool with her. They all wore these really elaborate and quite fancy Afghan wedding dresses. Bright colors, etc. AND ALL WITH VEILS.
They have several shops in the area that rent them (and with 25,000 Afghans we definitely have some weddings going on).
The biggest difference between the Afghan gowns for the bride and her party was that there were no "bare shoulders", "bare backs" or "bare arms". Almost like an Orthodox Jewish wedding ~ except this was just a betrothment, and that takes the place of the "show up in costume part".
No, none of these girls grew up on a steady diet of burqas, but they definitely went "large" with the gowns which are as heavy and stuffy as anything found in Christian services.
