The 2nd chapter of the 2nd book of Maccabees tells WHERE the Old Testament Ark of the Covenant was hidden. According to the Bible passage cited above, the Old Testament Ark of the Covenant is in a covered-up cave on Mt Nebo in the Kingdom of Jordan, coordinates 31.765095 degrees N by 35719079 degrees E, just NE of the Dead Sea. It was carried just over 24 miles from Jerusalem, when Jerusalem was about to be conquered & destroyed, including the 1st Temple, by the Babylonians, about 586 BC. This could have HUGE implications for Middle East policy. Q.E.D.
I own lots of Catholic Bibles, and have taught the passage in question several times. I don’t have any that give the GPS location.
What version are y’all using?
That is incorrect. It has been accepted as inspired by Christians from the earliest days of the Church and appears on lists of the canonical books since the 4th century. The Orthodox Churches do not teach purgatory and Maccabees is in their canon. Martin Luther took it upon himself in the 16th century to remove seven Old Testament books from his translation (Maccabees among them) because they disagreed with his novel doctrines.
About 430 A.D.
Funniest line of the day! Lol!!
King James Bible
Jeremiah 3:16
And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
“Catholic bible.”
The Pulpit Bible in our not-Catholic church had the Apocrypha books in it. They were clearly marked as not part of the “regular” Bible, but just for information, history, etc. Sometimes when we played in the church as kids, we’d check out Maccabees, Susanna, and I can’t remember the rest.
You are wrong .
The Cannon closed without those books. You can defend the Catholic Church all you want. But do not change the facts to fit your mantra.
Luther only removed them because they were not canonical, and they were not because the cannon closed without them ever being added.
You do jot have the right to change history just to fit your faith.
Right, because that simple fact has been incomprehensible to billions of people for thousands of years - but YOU get it instantly.
So get on over there and post pictures.
No, I am right. You are wrong.
The Cannon closed without those books.
It’s spelled canon. Who closed it, when did they close it, and by what authority did they close it?
You can defend the Catholic Church all you want. But do not change the facts to fit your mantra.
The facts are what they are and are available to whoever will honestly look into history.
Luther only removed them because they were not canonical, and they were not because the cannon closed without them ever being added.
What authority did Luther have to change what had always been canonical?
You do jot have the right to change history just to fit your faith.
Nor do you.
LOL yep
I had to look that up to confirm that the answer was not quite on the level.
You need to be watched.
Maccabees books 1 and 2 were in the Bible for over 1,000 years....UNTIL Martin Luther removed it, and several other books, because they disproved his hypotheses.
I would like to go over that mountain with new ground-penetrating radar, locate the cave and retrieve the Ark of the Old Covenant for the Israeli Dept of Antiquities, for its historical value. The Manna in it may still be good to eat. But the Ark of the NEW Covenant, the Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven, is what is important NOW.
The movie, though entertaining, took liberties with the facts.
What does scripture say about adding or DELETING to it?
Here is why the bible is a Catholic book.

First off, the Catholics added to it, they are the ones who added non inspired writings.
Besides there was no Catholic Church until years after the cannon was closed.
I am going to stop this discussion now, because any faith that would think they need a High priest over Christ is lost.
My mistake, I was on my phone and it changed my spelling.
But you are. wrong and besides, you follow a faith that thinks they need a High Priets on earth in place ion Christ. Especially one who has his heart in HELL.
Maybe you should try leaving a religion that wants to mimmic the Jewish faith in their structure.
