You can go 100% OTC for prophylaxis, because Dr. Zev says OTC quercetin will work, too, in place of HCQ. This is the simple regimen he posted on Twitter for prophylaxis:
Quercetin 500mg one or two a day (OTC)
Zinc 25mg (elemental) once a day (OTC)
Personally, I take 2 capsules of Zinc Quercetin (Sandhus brand: Amazon, Walmart and almost any drugstore would have it, and there are many other supplement brands) and I eat Zinc/Quercetin foods. I eat just one little smoked oyster every day, cut in thirds, with 3 capers, on crackers. Simple as you can get. COVID-crusher canapes.
Any shellfish, lamb, beef good for Zinc, and MANY foods contain quercetin in small amts. Onions! An apple a day.
Zinc is notoriously hard to absorb, but it absorbs best when eaten with meat (which is, itself, a zinc-containing food) and EGCG, (which is found abundantly in any kind of caffein-type tea, especially white, black, but especially green tea, even the cheapest kinds), and quercetin. So the easiest way to be sure you're getting adequate dosage and get good absorption,is to take the supplements together with zinc-rich foods.
As I was typing this, I was thinking "Why doesnt everybody know this, just like washing your hands?"
My next thought was, Why am *I* not shouting this from the housetops?? Why am I, in effect, prolonging the damn plandemic by not COVID-proofing everybody I know? WHAT HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE PAST 151 DAYS?

I have been on Vitamin D3 gelcaps for years - 2000 IU’s a day. Have just recently bumped that up to 5000 IU’s a day.
But a friend told me I need to take Vitamin K to help my cells absorb the Vitamin D3.
Do you know anything about this Vitamin K and is it necessary?

Thanks to this thread, have just ordered Quercetin/Zinc from Walmart which won’t arrive for a week from now.
I am getting this because I may be going into hospital on Monday. Long story. Want to have something before I go in....my doctor has said he would prescribe HCQ if I came down with COVID19 but the pharmacies won’t fill it...unless you have rheumatoid arthritis.

The studies I looked at made no mention of K. D3 only. There was also no indication very large doses of D3 had any benefit. 1600IU is the dosage that showed benefit. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. This means you don’t simply pee it out. Though rare, mega doses (5000iu isn’t mega) will build up and show toxicity. I personally wouldn’t take more than 4 caltrate a day (3200IU) even in winter, 2 when I wake up and 2 after dinner.
ps. Being that D3 is fat soluble, a bit of fat in the meals helps with gut uptake of D3.

I think it is but I know 3200 is safe in a normal body. A, K, D and E are fat soluble. Your body doesn’t simply pee them out when you have too much. They accumulate. Study said no additional benefit past 1600IU for respiratory issues. I would ask your doctor if 5000IU is safe for your body. Personally I am taking 1600IU and getting some sun. In winter I might up it to 2400IU because of the no sun on skin thing.
Most of my vitamins come from fresh foods. I take a multi to cover where I am short. Many many micro nutrients in fresh foods that are not in the pills. It is like with plants. They need more than NPK. You can fertilize with the artificially created chemicals that are pure or use organics. Organics have the NPK but also the hundreds of other nutrients the plant needs to thrive. Buying organic foods is largely a scam but fertilizing your vegetable garden with organically based (not necessarily certified) fertilizer yields better veggies.

Your friend was likely trying to get you to add K2. The lack of K2 from the fat of wild and free ranged/grass fed animals and live fermented foods is responsible for the calcium not being taken up properly and causing calcification of blockage in our arteries. No K2 and added calcium = hardening of blockages potentially leading to strokes and heart attacks. K2 = little hardening and clean arteries.
