Fox News is shutting down comments on News Stories that Matter.
All of that said, I noticed this evening that Fox News has all but shut down commentary regarding the riots currently taking place in many of our metropolitan areas. Apparently, they have decided that it is too much of a hassle to police the forums to eliminate those posts that, perhaps in the opinion of the moderators, cross the line. While Fox News is currently the closest thing that many have to an unbiased news network, as many of us know, they are not without fault. While they cover many news stories with what a lot of us may find as a more "fair and balanced" approach, they still exhibit an inside-the-beltway 24-7 cable news journalistic, 'sky is falling' opportunism mentality at times. So, for all of those who look to Fox News as not only a source for news, but also a public forum in which your voice can be heard regarding the current events of the day, I encourage you to let that voice be heard regarding those current events that matter most to you; even if it means posting in a completely unrelated story e.g. 'Taylor Swift "bares all" poolside during Corona Virus Lockdown' (the headline is made up, but the daily typical Fox News website scenario is real). Make the powers that be at Fox News either shut down comments related to all stories or open up comments on all stories. No more selective Censorship!
Stories without comments are not worth reading.
Fox News has really been bad covering this national crisis, but better than CNN etc. It is maddening to see though. Some of the issue I assume is their reporters are targets if they try to be honest, and also the lousy executives running the channel are catering to the left.
Fox news is *not* unbiased. It’s a moderately fake news news network.
Fox and drudge both going to dark side...its social media it’s a disease and it’s destroying us
You are not missing anything. The comments there typically make me embarrassed to be a human being.
I have said it before, I will say it again. After President Trump steps down at the end of his second term, he should consider starting a new news network. He will wipe the floor with the rest of the networks in terms of ratings.
I love Free Republic, but I really think we were better off as a society before the internet when people had to write a letter to the editor if they wanted to comment on current events. Everybody doing battle online anonymously in comment sections and on message boards has just bred more contempt. I wouldnt miss comment sections if they did away with them altogether...
Not going. Gone. Drudge is part of the left wing anti Trump fake news media. Contrary to what people think he still maintains editorial control over the site.
Fox News is so yesterday, like the ChiCom flu was so last week. I don’t watch it anymore and I don’t miss it.
I like this site too and I’ve had many good discussions here.
I think comments sections really depend on how courteous and reasonable people are willing to be. When they sometimes devolve into the personal insults name-calling , and profanity, then I agree that the comments become useless.
I had some bad discussions here too. I distinctly remember on one thread about the bombing of Dresden, I was told I am no better than ISIS, because I took issue with someone who thought the bombing of Dresden was a crime against humanity.
I am of the opinion that reasonable people can disagree about things. I also think that people can agree to disagree. Clearly the person who thought I am like an ISIS terrorist because I don’t have the same view of an historic event as he does, is the kind of person who gives message boards a bad name.
fox news is under orders likely from paul ryan, to keep the race card flying inciting more and more violence- i listened most of the day today- till i couldn’t take their nonsense anymore, and only heard the medical examiner’s findings mentioned once- all other mentions of floyd were that he was murdered because the cop had his knee on his neck Despite the examiner report saying “NO Asphyxiation”
It seems Fox news will not allow the medical examiner’s report to be mentioned hardly at all- apparently to keep beating the drum that a racist cop intentionally murdered floyd in cold blood—
1 person on rick rikemeuth’s show tried telling rick there was no asphyxiation, but rick ignored it and repeated that floyd died because a knee was on his neck- the fella speaking to rick tried to explain that there were other reasons for Floy’d’s death but rick wasn’t having any of it- nor were several other main figures on fox tonight and today-
+1
He looks wacky enough to have changed. It’s all about him I’m sure he’s very sensitive.
>>and also the lousy executives running the channel are catering to the left.
In 2004 NewsCorp executives endorsed John F. Jerry.
Murdoch’s brat lefty kids own Fox now—just can’t trust them anymore....
I agree with you that everyone needs to take breaks from the crazy “news” world out there....
What makes me feel better is when I remember that homo sapiens invented language to lie.
Actions tell the truth—words are used to deceive.
Once you get that, you ignore what people say and watch what they do, and “talking heads” are _doing_ nothing and therefore are to be ignored.
Fox died years ago. They are trash. Fox is basically a radio talk show with the same old guests on over and over and over, only with TV cameras showing the radio hosts and guests.
Fox News hasn’t acutally had NEWS for years. They are dead. CNN died long before that.
One America News Network is the only network with news, and I can only get COMCAST, which refuses to add OANN.
Fox sucks. Drop it like a hot rock. I record only Hannity and Laura and end up watching maybe 15 minutes combined, fast forwarding through most of both shows.
Did SOROS Buy DRUDGE???
Most of the comments following the riot article this morning are disgusting. So many comments are anti-police, anti-Trump and anti-American. We are in serious trouble in this country and it’s only going to get worse.
