Protest prioritizes emotion over effectiveness unless *highly* disciplined and targeted. Otherwise, it can play into opponent narrative.
I attended Operation Gridlock Springfield. I am writing this because it went all wrong! I am hoping others will heed this warning so the upcoming Rallies will be Fun, encouraging and successful.
I learned right here on FREE REPUBLIC, what was acceptable behavior when Conservatives attend a Protest! THANK YOU FREE REPUBLIC! I beg you please Publish them again, so Newbies can HAVE A CLUE!
I just FLED OPERATION GRIDLOCK in Springfield Illinois, because I did not want to be a part of what was erupting! Giving the cops a Hard time.. Telling them WE PAY YOUR SALARY! and just being obnoxious.
The Cops were very nice, saying to the big mouth woman with the microphone, Hey we are on your side, BUT you cannot do this... (Block the Street with her vehicle.)
The woman with the Microphone convinced other Folks with flags and signs to come into the street with her and block a pick up truck who had a liberal driver who screamed some choice words at the Gridlock attendees.
All this chaos is ending up stealing the message of the event. If I hear the woman was arrested and got her car towed, it will not be a surprize.
I apologize to all Law Enforcement that was there enduring these Lame Pro-American Protesters, they played right into the hands of the leftists! SO SAD. PLEASE folks, If you are going to any kind of Rally, Contact the Organizers and make sure they express the rules for attendees! It is always a good remind to be Considerate, while having fun, getting your word out and Saving AMERICA!
Personally YEARS ago in Chicago, with the FREE REPUBLIC Chapter we had a HILLARY CLINTON PROTEST! I was approached by Secret Service, I answered their questions, of why we we there, I was Polite and he ended our conversation with " HAVE FUN"
I also remember attending a Protest with Kristin in Washington DC, The Good Ole days!!
Sounds like a false flag operation.
Wow
Intellectual midgets and amoral FK’S
DC Chapter rules for protesting is a good guide.
Rule #1 of protests...there is safety in numbers.
A protest that calls for blocking streets and stalling traffic requires huge crowds of cars. The cops can’t give tickets to people with no place to go.
A couple dozen cars will get towed away.
If they are acting that way, they are not of our mindset and probably a false flag type of diversion.
I just got back
From a few hours
“Protest” in Poway,Ca.
.
Always Interesting, Fun
perhaps Futile.
I think you had some Dem/antifa trolls at your protest.
My thoughts Exactly,
.
First Rule is
Get a Safe parking
spot with a good
“Exit Stage Left!”
I’ve been watching the protest in Olympia, Washington on facebook. I use a throwaway email address with no pix and no friends just so I can see stuff like this.
Several thousand protestors at the state capitol in Olympia. Lots of flags, singing, chanting USA.
I did a search to see what those were:
D.C. Chapter’s rules for protesting - No violence, no profanity, no racism, no threats, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
I’m not sure if this a complete list but certainly covers most of the bases.
thanks for the first-hand report.
hmmmm...i have mixed opinions about this...
do we or do we not stoop to RAT behavior...ever?
‘cept the RATS don’t get arrested and have their car towed...depending on where the rally is at.
We had 12 People
On a street intersection
Everyone had a Flag,
Trump, USA or
“Don’t Tread on Me”.
A lot of churches
Let out is the reason,,,,
Now,not so much.
Not much enthusiasm
But One Psycho that I
Was able to push into
“Raving Maniac”,
I have this Talent.
I helped organize the first Tea Party Rally in Ventura, CA, way back when. It was huge, and we were classy. It was impressive when the “parade” of motorcycles buzzed us a few times, flags flying and horns honking. It gave us chills.
Hi, chicago. Don’t know whether we ever met. I attended several events in DC and led the ones in NYC, Westchester, New Jersey etc. for FR as chapter leader.
I could not agree with you more.
I understand the outrage, but we have to be careful with this one, to be sure we are not just showing off our patriotism inappropriately and possibly even doing it because we want to do what we want to do. We are social animals and are TORTURED by the social isolation, like a prisoner in solitary for some of us, but we have to hold the real flag for as long as we can.
I broke the
“Provacation”
rule,a little maybe.
But it was Too Easy.
I just pretend
I’m from ‘Jersey.
Sounds like the protests are being infiltrated...a primary tactic of the left
I helped organize the first Tea Party Rally in Spokane, WA, BITD. Blew the libtards away, they did not think conservatives could demonstrate.
BINGO
