Double postings of items of interest are common. Most of the time, folks here do check before they post. If it is a newly reported item - once one has checked to make sure it is not posted - it takes time to make a new post.
Some of us here are slower than others. Usually because we want to verify, clarify, and check the story over all.
To those that are quick to jump with condemnation, please consider this, you are no better than the media that rush to publish a story without verification.
Re-post with “(vanity)” in the title...

I hate those.
I hate those.
FR is not the easiest to use for searching or, as mentioned, posting a new thread fast. Multiple people could be setting up the long process at the same time.
I dont blame anyone for repetitive threads.
I hate those.
You’re crazy.....LOL......well I guess since I have so many that it’s not because I’m ignert.....is that what it means? I’m dense......;)
Double talk.
Double talk.

Or add whatever search terms you want.
Once upon a time, threads on FR included substantive comments and it was important for the posts to be linked and to be kept together with the original article that generated the thread.
Now, comments are mostly nonsense, usually less than a sentence by someone who has not read the article. So, it really doesn’t matter anymore. The more posts on interesting articles, the better.
It’s by no means a foolproof method of avoiding the dreaded double post, but here’s what I do. When I’m ready to post a new thread, I’ll open Free Republic in another window and do a quick final check to see if someone snuck in the same article ahead of me. It almost always works to avoid a double.
So sometime FR glitches and you press “post” again because nothing happens.
Who cares if it’s posted twice? It’s not on purpose, obviously.
If this is the apex of the things you have to worry about...in actuality...you have nothing to worry about.
“Trust the risen Lord Jesus to save you as a damned and destitute sinner + be baptized + follow Him”
The Apostles Gospel was that Christ was truly divine, He died, He was resurrected, and He atoned for our sins.
Laying out the foundation to trust Christ was their point so that the destitute sinner would chose to believe in the divine Christ, be baptized, and follow Him.
Knowing that is what you are saying, but wanting to make sure the Gospel stays intact.
Double postings...
It’s like a wheel within a wheel.
I find what works best is:
Do not search a “whole title”. Titles change from news outlet to news outlet.
Enter a main word in the search box of FR and use the drop down menu to search “title”
Example: biden
https://www.freerepublic.com/focus/search?m=all;o=time;q=quick;s=biden
Check to see if the story you wish to post is already there.

Yes, you have probably been on here far longer than me, but it has not gone unnoticed by me that this is true.
Few well thought out replies with good information or ideas.

Thank you. Your way of posting does address the issue of double posting. I appreciate your sharing this.
