NEWARK, N.J. - Authorities in Canada have accused a Justin Bieber impersonator of threatening and sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in New Jersey on a video chat site. Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray says 34-year-old Lee Moir of Toronto, Ontario, posed as the pop star on Facebook. Authorities allege he threatened to harm the girl's family to force her to perform sex acts online. It's unclear if Moir used photos of Bieber on his Facebook page, but authorities say the girl realized it wasn't the singer during the video chat.

Apatow, who had a radioactive stress test Wednesday, was pulled over later in the day, in Newtown, by a state police trooper after a radioactivity detector in the trooper's car was set off when Apatow passed. The detectors are used to help identify potential terror threats. Apatow was not on duty at the time. RALEIGH Facing steep odds and a nasty campaign as one of the nation's most endangered Democrats, Gov. Bev Perdue announced Thursday that she is abandoning her re-election bid. Perdue's departure shocked the North Carolina political establishment, coming as a surprise to top Democrats and even her staff just 15 weeks before the May primary. In a statement, Perdue said that she wants to focus on improving state education funding and that her "re-election will only further politicize the fight." "Therefore, I am announcing today that I have decided not to seek re-election," she continued. "I hope this decision will open...

An agitated moose ran down and stomped a well-known Bush pilot from Willow, but he was saved when his wife grabbed a shovel from their pickup truck and whacked the big animal until it backed off.

Meager 18,000 increase in June heightens worries over economyWASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — A disappointing U.S. jobs report has stunned Wall Street and triggered a fresh round of political recriminations as to who and what’s to blame. The economy added a meager 18,000 jobs in June, stoking worries the U.S. economy is slumping again. See story on June jobs data. Here is a sample of reaction on Wall Street and in Washington. • “Today’s report is more evidence that the misguided ‘stimulus’ spending binge, excessive regulations, and an overwhelming national debt continue to hold back private-sector job creation in our country.” —...

The world is approching the ultimate crunch. The selfcentered mind made world created by human nature cannot survive the divine spirits of love truth and life. Self active human nature is filled with the spirits of hate, lies and death. These ill spirits are clearly displayed by the Islamo-Marxist-Chicago Gangster occupying the White House. The vessels dedicated to serving these ill spirits must pass away. We are in the third year after the inaugeration of Obama. This correlates to the third horse in the book of Revelation. In Revelation the black horse reveals famine and rationing. We see this before...

<p>Maybe it was because the arena was filled with die-hard sports fans, and not his usual audience of tweens.</p>
<p>Whatever it was, pop star Justin Bieber was loudly booed at Wednesday night’s Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.</p>
<p>A video making the rounds on YouTube shows the footage from the game, and the commentators can be heard joking about the loud Bronx cheer. The crowd erupted as when the singer was shown wearing pink glasses on the overhead scoreboard.</p>

Taping of Oprah Winfrey's second show at the Sydney Opera House was briefly suspended this afternoon when Aussie actor Hugh Jackman injured himself during a stunt. Jackman, who portrays Wolverine in the X-Men movie series, crashed into a light as he zipped down on a flying fox from the top of the Opera House sails. Winfrey was immediately concerned for Jackman and called for a doctor as well as saying "let's take a break and get some ice". snip

What's with the recent trend of tagging articles with palin or sarahpalin that have nothing to do with Sarah Palin? If your article has nothing to do with Palin, please don't tag it as such. It's bad enough that journalists use her name to get hits to their articles or as a cheap source of writing material. We don't need that attitude here too. Just because people want to increase traffic to their posts, doesn't mean they should tag their posted articles with palin or sarahpalin. This just clutters the keyword/tagging system.

Just spoke with old friend, very senior retired USN skipper. Says his contacts, many of whom were his "boys," are concerned with how stupid the MSM and Americans are and at how the Internet has fueled rampant ignorance. As I was calling him, he was calling me to call my military and IC friends to have a laugh and share some scotch to ease our aching heads.

The good news for President Obama is his popular support among blacks is holding steady at 91%.The bad news is no other group of potential voters likes him that much.In fact, 29 days before his first midterm elections, the Democrat's approval ratings remain mired below 50%.A new Gallup Poll this morning finds his approval rating for September was 45%, almost the same as August's 44%. Obama's not exceeded the crucial 50% level in a single month so far this year.Read the rest at the Los Angeles Times here -------------------------------------------------------------------------The same poll says only 36% of whites still haven't given in to their latent...

Harvard Professor Raj Chetty and a group of other researchers have performed a much-discussed study (via Gene Expression) that looks at what factors really affect things like income, your likelihood to own a home, and odds of getting married. The most startling thing they found? Your score on a very basic kindergarten test is a HUGE predictor. Other educational factors like class size and the quality of your teachers aren't nearly as important. Given the renewed interest in educational policy in America right now, it's fascinating.

For those of you who followed my every word raptly (sarc) and wondered where I went--I'm back. Moved from NJ to SC and already saving tons of money. I hope "sickoflibs" picks this up and adds me to his list of "regulars". It's so good to be back. Especially given the conservative tidal wave overtaking the country. Come on November!!

Pop Star Accused Of 'Inappropriate Behavior' BALTIMORE -- It seems teen sensation Justin Bieber had a bit of a run-in with Maryland state troopers before his sold-out concert Sunday at the Maryland State Fair. A state police spokesperson said Bieber, while "horsing around with members of his staff," threw water balloons at two troopers, the 11 News I-Team's Jayne Miller reported. One of the balloons hit a trooper's gun belt and burst, and the other brushed a trooper on the chest but didn't burst, Miller reported. It happened outside a trailer Bieber was using before the concert. The troopers were...

I deposit the Risk into the account of a dummy finance company for management, called the republican party. Then, I deposit the damage into the account of a dummy corporation for control, called the democratic party. I leave all the bible belt religions as spoilers, or third parties; putting them down as department store chains. To stave off the profit into the mints money burning facility, to insure that the money is worthless in terms of pragmatic value, and is only practical believed values. And the Black market is pimped as bad but, even losing even your kindeys in a...

OK, tweens, take a deep breath. Canadian pop star Justin Bieber will be bringing his silly hairdo and fancy dance moves to the Target Center on June 29. Tickets are $49.50 to $29.50 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday through Ticketmaster. They are likely to sell quickly, too.

A strange thing happened tonight. While reading the sudden onslaught of threads asking for advice on various topics, I suddenly remembered that my sister, who loves to hunt moose, really has a problem buying cheese. Does any FReeper have advice for a piece of software she can use to select the cheese?

I was just thinking. We are in perilous times. She stands for everything that is good in America. Would a Sarah Palin Presidency crush the Serpent's head.. ie Satan's followers? maybe nuke them? Genesis 3:15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed;

Eric Williamson, from Springfield, Virginia, was brewing coffee in his kitchen when a woman and a seven-year-old boy walked past the window and saw him. The woman complained to police who arrested Williamson shortly after the incident on Monday morning. Williamson, 29, insisted he did nothing wrong and that any exposure of his private parts were accidental. "Yes I wasn't wearing any clothes but I was alone, in my own home and just got out of bed. It was dark and I had no idea anyone was outside looking in at me," he said. Williamson, who has a five-year-old daughter,...

Anyone else having difficulty displaying foxnew.com/politics articles using Firefox,Safari or Camino? All of these browsers use the Google tool to block reported attack sites and web forgeries. Turning off that "feature" allows me to display the text of the article after relaunching the browser. Turning that "feature" on prevents the text from being displayed. Only the header is displayed. This has been happening for 3 weeks and I'm slowly testing other browsers. It would help if others would do the same. It would be great to record the browser name, version, and web page link so we can try to...

Howdy all, I'm a long-time lurker, occasional poster here on FR. I’ve always enjoyed the good articles, lively debate and excellent resources for conservatives here, so I’m taking the liberty of bringing a slight “issue” to y’all to see what you think. Recently (around the start of summer, about two months ago) my younger sister (aged 22) started talking about a young man she’d met in one of her Communications classes. She said he was very nice, handsome, smart, and it was obvious that she was starting to take an interest in him. About a month ago, they went out...

I post many items here, from business to politics and evrything in between, and sometimes entertainment as a nice distraction from all of the corrupt politicians. Recently I tried to post an article about a supermodel who is pregnant. I thought it was a mistake after it was pulled the first time, but it was pulled a second. What is so objectionable to this news item? And is there a place we can look for a set of rules, as I have seen much worse than this posted int he past.

An open records request by Palin-obsessed Alaskan Andree McLeod has uncovered the shocking revelation that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin uses a device known as the “telephone.” Records show that Palin not only uses this device to accept two-way voice communication – known as “calls” – from others, she also uses the “telephone” to, in fact, initiate voice contact with third parties in other locations ...

Stoned wallabies causing crop circles Tasmanian wallabies are getting stoned on the state's opium poppy crops and creating crop circles. Things are really hopping in Tasmania where wallabies are getting stoned on the state's opium poppy crops and creating crop circles. The wallabies are breaking into the poppy fields and making the circles while they're high. Rick Rockliff from Tasmanian Alkaloids says wildlife and livestock which eat the poppies are known to act weird, and he's told the Hobart Mercury there's been many stories about sheep eating the poppies and then walking around in circles. Tasmania is the world's largest...

How to tell if you've been FReeping too longIf some, many or all of the following apply to you, you probably have been FReeping too long. You remember when you had to know basic HTML in order to form a decent post. You remember when the entire thread had to be 86’d in order to remove a single post. You remember when if someone forgot to close their italics, bold tags, the entire thread after that point was in bold or italics. Residents Say They're Terrorized By Pit Bulls Posted: 6:16 pm EDT May 1, 2009Updated: 6:33 pm EDT May 1, 2009 SANFORD, Fla. -- Some Sanford homeowners say they're being terrorized by their neighbor's pit bulls. One of the dogs has already attacked a neighbor near Lily Court in Sanford. Eyewitness News has learned the dogs' owners are not keeping their fence secure. Some of the breaks in the fence are big enough for an adult to easily climb through. After many calls to animal control, neighbors say they want the fence fixed once and for all. "Chasing children, attacking children....

AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name...

There has always been a desire to maintain credibility and integrity on Free Republic. That is eroding with each new, Obama, birth certificate story. Many of those creating this ruckus claim are flying a false flag of Constitutionality when it is actually an effort to paint all Conservatives with the broad brush of conspiratorialism of the most dangerous kind. Thank you.

Whoever out there on the BangList group is adding the keyword 'banglist' to all these non-RKBA related threads, knock it off. So far, we've got banglist pings going out on all sorts of irrelevant threads such as any mention of Congressman Henry Waxman taking over a chairmanship from Rep. Dingell and those where Obama's CHANGE.ORG website defines anyone making over $100k as 'the rich'. These are not RKBA issues no matter how you try to justify some tenuous link. Whoever is doing it, stop putting 'banglist' into every little thread that captures your attention for whatever reason. This ping list...
