FULL TITLE: Tiny Jag pulls out of AfroFuture Fest after learning white people would be charged a different price to attend
Jillian Graham, aka Detroit-based rapper Tiny Jag, pulled out of a local music festival this week because she disagreed with its pay model, in which people of color would pay less for tickets than white festivalgoers.
Graham said she only found out about AfroFuture Fest's pay model when a white friend reached out to her and sent her a screenshot via Instagram that outlined the pay difference. The early bird POC ("people of color") ticket was $10 while the early bird "non-POC" ticket cost $20.
"I was immediately enraged just because I am biracial," Graham tells Metro Times. "I have family members that would have, under those circumstances, been subjected to something that I would not ever want them to be in ... especially not because of anything that I have going on."

Never heard of the rapper or the event. Now that I have, I still don’t care.
A different view here.
If it’s ok for blacks to charge whites extra because they don’t like them and want to discourage their attendance, it should be ok for whites to use differential pricing to discourage blacks.
I hope someone takes this to court and gets the ok for racially discriminatory pricing, because what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
So far, it’s all been one way, like the college cookie sales where blacks got a discount. Let’s use this as precedent and reverse the pricing direction. It would get a mega reaction.
That will be $15.00.
The pull out move was not racist. The pay scheme was racist.

Well, okay, but I still don't understand the problem.
If they really want to be fair about it, they should have a sliding cost scale based on the darkness of the customer’s skin with the darkest on the scale getting in free. This would parallel the Real World in a vast majority of cultures where, regardless of race, the darkest skinned members sit at the bottom of the socio-economic scale. Cuba is a prime example. So is India.
So that is a problem for a bi racial person.
Do they split the difference in the admission?
Do they hit themselves with a brick?
Do they rob themselves?
What is a bi racial person to do.

Let’s say it explains the failure of far too many African-Americans.
1/ It doesn’t affect immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean. (Sadly, their kids are all too often a different story.)
2/ The American blacks my wife and I flew with at the airlines were the best of the best (white or black).
The promoters were just trying to keep you safe by discouraging your attendance.
