Sorry for the sloppy Post. I was literally in a cave Posting this with the iPhone.
Racist talk about race and celebrate things like the start of slavery.
It may have been forced migration, but they were not slaves until 1655.
It’s moment’s like this you really appreciate not having television.
Who knows the temptation might have been to much for me.
At least they were WANTED here in US. My ancestors, Cherokee, were badly mistreated. Trail of Tears, etc. My great grandma was 1/2 Cherokee and was never considered human, never allowed to vote. That new law came after she passed away. Mary Ann Hargrove was her name.
Glad they remind of every year ..sometimes dozens of times a year..else we forget.
If only we had did something to make ammends?
Spend trillions of dollars..lower expectations..take some kind of affirmative action?
Let OJ Simpson go free?

They just make Me sick.
Most Irish immigrants were forced by starvation to migrate. They weren’t exactly welcomed. Nor were the Chinese.
Worst mistake ever made.
Is it forced migration? I thought it was the expansion of the slave trade from Africa to the North American continent. The slave trade was prospering in Africa for eons.
Hey, I have a Senator that said she was Cherokee. Maybe you met her at a tribal council?
I have a great great uncle I would give up, and his brother would be willing to give a leg. Do you think that would satisfy them?
Should have picked our own damned cotton.
Meanwhile, the Arab slave trade of blacks began in the ~9th Century.
And what was happening prior to 1655 with slavery on the continent of Africa?
Most of the slaves who “migrated” did not come to the United States at all. Went farther south.
While that is entirely true but there was also outright enslavement of the Irish https://www.africaresource.com/rasta/sesostris-the-great-the-egyptian-hercules/the-irish-slave-trade-forgotten-white-slaves/
Most Irish all US immigrants were forced by starvation to migrate. They werent exactly welcomed. Nor were the Chinese.
My great grand parents from Scandinavia were also forced by starvation to migrate. There was not sufficient farm land to feed the population. Why else would they risk an ocean voyage in the hold of a ship where 10% died, to then settle on a barren prairie in a hand built sod house where no firewood was available for -20 degree winters. Most periods of mass migration to the US have historically been forced by starvation. Until now, that is. Now it's the opposite. The government is forcing the population to pay for welfare to the immigrants.
