It’s been estimated that 6% were brought to the US, 94% went further south. About a third went to Brazil.

As far as I know, there is no effort to shame Brazil. America is affluent; America is shamed/blamed. It’s all about money. Haiti had lots of slaves, but there is no point in shaming Haiti as they are dirt poor.

“they were not slaves until 1655.”

Really? I did know that.

I read a claim that no slaves were brought to the United States. All slaves were brought to colonies, prior to ratification of the U.S. Constitution. Do you know if that is true?

Only 400 years? They were being dragged out of Africa into the Middle East for the last three thousand years.

Of course, the ones taking them at that time had the males castrated. That is why you find many mentions of them in ancient histories but major tribes of descendants of former slaves in the ME.

The Constitution allowed the importation of slaves for 20 years, until the end of 1807. In 1807, the importation of slaves was abolished, as early as it was allowed in the Constitution.

400th Anniversary of Forced African Migration

It is important to correctly understand the history of slavery in America but it is equally important to correctly understand the history of how America abolished slavery.

We should celebrate the fact that America abolished slavery forever in less than 80 years.

Those first Blacks were indentured servants, not slaves.

Rescue someone from being eaten/killed by their enemy tribesmen who had captured them and it is called forced migration. The blacks lucky enough to be brought to America should be thankful that it happened. They were dead otherwise.

If you want to talk about forced migration, study what the English did to the Acadian's in the mid 1700's.

Not just Irish. Starting around 1670, America became a popular dumping ground for the poor of the British Isles. A ship would show up and read the names of households or individuals who were considered not bad enough to hang, not good enough to remain.

Usually, but not always, a representative of the crown had compiled that list with the help of the town council. They had 24 hours to report dockside with their meager belongings for transport to America.

Many Scotland and northern England (as well as Irish) villages were depopulated in said manner. Anyone returning from Transportation could be hanged. For this reason, there are a lot fewer blood relatives here after 1670 than before.

The gene pool here by 1670 is so small that almost anyone here by then is related.

Cut it out! Cut it out! Cut it out! The hell's the matter with you?! Stupid! We're all very different people. We're not Watusi. We're not Spartans. We're Americans, with a capital 'A', huh? You know what that means? Do ya? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're mutts! Here's proof: his nose is cold! But there's no animal that's more faithful, that's more loyal, more loveable than the mutt.

Mutts through and through. The specific mixture of the mutt may vary, but we're all mutts. This is the reason I check mixed race on every government form that offers said option or multiple boxes on those which don't.

If everyone did this consistently, the division silliness would stop. The fact that some races are more equal than others is the only reason it persists!

18 Most of the slaves who “migrated” did not come to the United States at all. Went farther south.
