Austria's Far-Right presidential candidate Norbert Hofer has conceded defeat in his election bid to become the EU's first anti-immigrant leader.
The EU had been on tenterhooks this morning as Austria waited to see whether Hofer had won an election run-off against Independent candidate Alexander Van der Bellen.
Projected results last night had put both Hofer, presented as the friendly and moderate face of the populist Freedom Party (FPOe), and Van der Bellen, former head of the Greens, neck-and-neck on 50 percent.
But after the final 900,000 postal votes were counted, Van der Bellen this afternoon emerged as the winner. Only a little more than 31,000 votes separated the two, out of more than 4.6 million ballots cast. Hofer wrote on his Facebook page: 'Of course I am sad today. I would have liked to take care of our wonderful country for you as president.'

Let me guess - they found 5000 votes, surprisingly all for the Leftist Green candidate, in a church basement somewhere?
They still have churches in Austria?

The future for austria is obvious. Letting millions of savages in to rape the women and breed with their 4 wives, while getting everything free.

So Austria will continue to fight to the death against global warming while bringing in thousands and thousands of friendly Muslims from the middle east and north Africa to help them out.
Can’t help but wonder how many of our progressive party people were there to help count the votes.
In a related story, a bunch of refugees have just started heading towards Austria.
Isn’t it fascinating that Van der Bellen isn’t referred to as “Far Left” but Hofer gets plastered with Far Right every time?
Even more fascinating is Van der Bellen’s family history of being a refugee from Stalinism.
Odd that a refugee from that would want to reinstate it.
Oh-—elections are NEVER rigged. (psst.....they are controlled by the people who “count” the votes (Stalin). There is NO WAY a sane, moral, rational person will take power away for the Shadow Government which wants all traces of Christianity erased off the face of the Earth in the minds of ALL children to flip 2000 years of Ethics-—back to slavery/feudalism.
Can’t have critical thinking (Christianity) in a tribal, slave culture for “happy slaves” of Fichte, where Slavery is Freedom, Up is Down and Boys are Girls and “snow is black”.

And nobody does anything about it, ever. Time, and again this type of fraud is reported. We know about it happening, but not a damned thing ever gets done towards stopping such fraud. It’s infuriating.
Look for greater monitoring come general election time in the USA. The smartphones are going to be used big time.
So the absentee ballots seemed to have a massive favor for the non right party. yea right.
No bias here. Far right, but the other guy in any election around the world is never far left.
What a fraud! Smells like another stolen election.
With so many accusations of voting irregularities and voter fraud, why did Hofer concede defeat?
The same thing will happen here if its close in November.
Hillary can and will steal it.
That’s why I fully expect Cankles to be our next Prez.
I’m not surprised at the outcome in Austria.
